The only thing that affects it is if you visited other islands and they had villagers leave - then you’re more likely to get a villager from their “void ”

Ah I see. In the lower right corner of your screen, there's a legend of what the buttons do. I'm pretty certain you're doing the "try" button. Click A on an empty slot to register one instead and see if that works

terraforming doesn't just appear without you doing anything, so you either did that yourself, someone else took your switch and did it, or you sleep-terraformed

Does anyone know if time travelling back in the same day e.g from 9pm in game to 5am, has an effect on whether or not a random villager will move in + an empty plot will fill? I’ve been looking specifically for merengue all day and it’s now nighttime in game, I want to make sure if I go back to 5am in order to avoid the day changing to tomorrow whilst I’m asleep irl it won’t for some reason allow the plot to fill

if you stay within the same day with an empty plot it should remind empty

if you are after midnight be sure to go back to the previous day (ie : 6th at 1am, means the plot is empty starting 5th at 5:01am)

• Visit Nook Miles Ticket islands (mystery tours). These islands always have rocks you can hit for materials.

i have 10 villagers. i’ve been playing since the game dropped and never had a problem that’s why i ask, but at first i was doing a few days at a time. nothing. so i did a month. nothing, a few months.. nope. back to random amount of days, etc. i’ve just been trying out different patterns and nothing is changing. the only thing i can think that would affect it at all is the island is pretty much brand new bc i restarted recently but again, still unsure why it would yknow?

How to MAKE BELLS, the SIMPLE Way:

My seed always puts heavy puts at 7.00 am the days it spawns, I thought it was just a game mechanic that fog spawns only at 7.00, but I'm thinking that maybe it can occur at any time starting from 7.00

As of 1.7.0, clothing can now be placed on surfaces, and hence overflowing furniture storage wont remove clothing on surfaces. Caps and Accessories can’t be overflowed with other clothes to be removed since they won’t be removed if there are 4 or less of either of them. The only way to remove them completely is to wait for the villager to gift you them on approach.

Before placed outfits were always on the floor. And could be forced in the wardrobe by being replaced by a 1x1 furniture. Now the rules are so that it is not really working like this anymore. There should be a least 4 place /stored accessories for them to be able to be put in the wardrobe. You can only be sure they are out of the storage if the villager sells it back to you

as far as we know the only rules with gifting villagers is that they can wear if they are match their gender preference and overall preferences. However it is not garanteed that they will put it in their wardrobe.

Yea, afaik while the clothing would still be in their inventory (as in there's a chance they can wear it) the floor furniture gets reset when a villager moves to a new island. The surface furniture (placed on things such as tables) does not.

Hey guys! It worked! Just a head's up!
Here's a little timeline so i can explain better:

Thursday (Today) - Friday - Saturday

Bones asked to move out on Thursday, and moved out on Friday. I didn't want to time travel forwards to Saturday because of the bug off.
I time traveled back to Thursday and i have an open plot! So if anyone ever finds themselves in the same situation as i did, here you go! haha
