In boxes = The moment when the villager stays in their house to clean it, and has all their furniture in boxes, like you can see in most of screenshots in the #villager-trade channel. It happens the day after you accept their proposal for moving elsewhere. At this moment, any other player having an emtpy plot on their island can visit them and invite them to move on their island, they will get them the next day.

1: a pond is a small body of water not connected to a waterfall or the ocean. If you see a long body of water, or see a waterfall, its a river.

2: a cliff river needs to be 3 spaces wide to spawn fish.

3: fish bait does nothing else except spawning a fish where you throw the bait.

The reason is im wanting to go villager hunting and dont know which day would be best to go on?

When you place a plot, you can immediately go villager hunting; after inviting one, the plot will have a "sold" sign reminding you who will move in; the next day the house appears and you can see the villager unpacking; the next day again they will start to live their new island life

If you don't invite anyone on the first day, there's a high chance the plot will appear sold to a random villager the next day which will be announced on the sign

Question about using 2 devices for one island

Me and my mom picked up acnh a month ago and have played it every day it since. We really enjoyed it, but wanted to play with each other at the same time. The local system they used wasn’t very enjoyable for either of us. We both have separate houses under separate accounts. I got a NS2 recently and wanted to figure out my capabilities before I buy another copy.

We transferred the island back to the old Nintendo switch. Can I access my house and old profile on the NS2 without transferring the entire island over? How can I do so? Does the old island always have to be open and online in order to access it on the NS2?

I also bought the new dlc recently and downloaded it on the old switch. Will that be accessible across both devices and accounts?

wellyou'd need to have a character on there island and one other character on yours, you can't share an island. so yes if you use your profile on your switch you don't have a house on their island and vice versa

You can absolutely do local co-op play if you have 2 houses on the same island, but you cant have the same island on 2 devices, so it would be playing on the same device with 2 connected controllers. There's only one island per switch console, so you'd have to transfer your wife's island over to the switch 2 as well if you want to keep your stuff

You can download the Island Transfer Tool on both your Switch 1 and 2, and transfer your island first before doing an actual system transfer.

Everything that unlocks with three stars will unlock no matter when you get three stars! In short: yes, you will be able to unlock the hotel

Its not size that matters, but ratio. I dont remember the exact specs, but I get perfect snowmen of all sizes as long as their heads and bodies match up

Unfortunately thats just a feature of the switch entirely now. You can move the gamecard between the switches though, and play back and forth between them. Only one switch can have the game card at a time though so you won't be able to play together on both devices.

Talk to Tom Nook about selling some land, he will let you place a new plot for 10k bells. Then you can either let the plot automatically fill with a villager (may take a few days) or hunt using nook mile tickets !

"In boxes" means the villager is preparing to leave someone's island and can be adopted that day by a visitor! So if you don't wanna hunt I'd recommend keeping an eye on the "in boxes" posts in #villager-trade

You just go to their island and talk to the villager in boxes, and there will be an option to invite them to your island

"Gifted" refers to an animal villager who has been given gifts from the player, thus they might not have their default housing interior anymore, & they may wear other clothing pieces that were given to them, including custom designs.

As far as trees go, each trees count as a tree for the "amount of trees" counter, too many trees and bushes would prevent you from having 5 stars. But only fully grown trees/bushes are worth points to the rating

My wife and I just got ACNH a few days ago. I’ve been doing research and keep coming across things mentioning dream traveling. I’ve looked up how to do it and everything really just says to go to sleep and it’ll happen.

I’ve tried going to sleep but when I get in the bed, nothing happens.

I’ve tried researching how to go to sleep (kind of felt stupid for needing to look this up) but everything that I have found says that after the initial sleep you do when you first start, you can’t sleep.

There is no trick, they are just placed diagonally 🤷‍♂️

Maybe some flower types visually take more space than other, hence why it may not feel smooth with the ones you chose

The three cosmos are already "rendered diagonally" by default, hence why in this specific angle (from north-west to south-east) it works pretty well. On the opposite angle, it may be less proper.

Catching sea creatures is a pretty good way to do it. A full inventory won't make as many Bells as island beetles, but you can do it all day AND don't need to travel back and forth

rotten turnips tires work fine, the thing is, it is a relatively rare spawn, A way people catch them is leaving the items near their house, enter and leave the building until they see one

Only thing with a date happening is january 15th for the 3.0 update and the release of the switch 2 version. There was a closed beta for the 3.0 which is what a lot of articles are relying on to give news, but the only 100% confirmed things were in the official 3.0 trailer.

so here is the timeline :
Day 1 : they ask to move out and you say yes
Day 2 : the villager is in "boxes" and can be adopted
Day 3 : You have an empty plot you can adopt
any day after that won't be garanteed empty.

y'all i recently restarted my island and am struggling with beginning game nook miles sooo much (like it's so slow and i don't want to time travel) and i need my third invited villager to progress but i'm kinda picky because of my super specific theme should i just power through and try to keep villager hunting or just lay down the three house plots and let the game autofill the third one

The game auto filled 4 of my plots. I only invited 1 villager but I also struggled with nook miles. (But I also prioritized getting pocket organization for 40 spots) so mine wasn’t that it was hard, just hard to prioritize what to get first.

My understanding is it’s hacked islands. So if you go there, it’s possible that you bring the bugs and virus back to your island which then causes issues? But I don’t personally go (I’m only 3 weeks into gameplay and only know what the ‘vets’ of this game have said)

For the first three plots, you can invite from mystery islands before you complete the furniture requests. Once you complete the furniture requests, the game will autofill those plots with villagers!

the 2 houses thing is because another profile on their switch also plays animal crossing. it’s only 1 island per switch, but each profile can have their own house!

Many people use or used to have two characters at some point, as the advantages are that:

• You can basically double event-based rewards, mum items, seasonal DIY, etc.
• You can order two arts from Redd when he visits. It was notably useful before the 2.0 update.
• You can order 10 items instead of 5 per day from the Nook shop.
• You can double your storage, if you created your second character to store your main ones items.
• You can use their houses as role-play buildings for decorative purposes (mimicking a restaurant, a cafe, a storage, etc.).

There are also disadvantages of doing so, that is why most of people prefer to stay with one character, or eventually delete their second one (it was my case, as I don't need it anymore nowadays):

• Villagers will usually speak about your second character and ask question about it. It is a bit annoying.
• It costs a lot of bells to fully upgrade another house just for the storage if it is the aim.
• It costs a lot time (and bells too) to decorate two houses if it is the aim.
• It costs time to advance with two (or more) characters, as you need to unlock at least the basic things as well with them.
• The house takes space on your island, in the case you don't need it for decorating purposes.

hypothetically, if i transferred my ACNH save from switch 1 to switch 2, could i redownload ACNH on my switch 1 and start a new island there while still being able to use local communication? i read online that you could do this but be unable to use online communication, but it was kinda hard finding info about local communication

i basically just wanted to start another island on my old switch as a sorta "retirement home" (lol) for my villagers bc i wanna invite new guys in, but i don't have the heart to let any of my current guys go

Here's some tips!

• Fishing and bug catching are good ways to get bells
• Selling shells is good too, with coral selling for 500 bells
• Your native fruit sells for 100 bells, and foreign fruit sell for 500.
• You can only get your native and sister fruits buy yourself. Trading is required for other fruits (I can help!)
• Trees can be shaken more than once
• You need a LOT of normal wood, and it has the lowest spawn rate of the three

You can do yeah! The cornering the stalk market stamp just calculates the profits you make, doesn't matter whether you sell them on your own island or elsewhere

The stamps are 1,000, 10,000, 100,000, 1m and 10m bells in profits

ah okay so all three have to move in then he will take a day to upgrade resident services, then he will want you to build the campsite, then you must move in that villager, after that he will ask you to get a 3 star island so make sure you have flowers fences and furniture about. kk will visit the island and then you unlock paths 🙂

for other stuff, it works the same as any body of water as long as it's big enough to spawn a fish naturally (about 3x3 minimum)
