Mystery islands are good for insect hunting, you should be able to get tree stump insects on there. Be aware the spawn time is stuck the hour you arrive, so you can stay there indefinitely, the spawn will remain the same.

Ex: Marshall was in the fish exhibit, but if you went to the end of the fossil exhibit he'd be in one of the first rooms on your way out so you don't have to check the entire museum.

For all completed sections you get a poster, so from what I remember only the poster. For the bug net and fishing rod, the reward is not from donating but catching, you can catch without giving it to the museum

I have been trying to move out a couple specific villagers for months now, I've followed the guide from the server here, so I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong? As listed they're not anywhere near their birthday, in the process of moving, or the last villagers moved in, so I was wondering if there's something I'm missing here?

If you want to know if celest is on your island or not (she shows up after 7pm on clear nights) is simply going to stretch! If she's on the island, she's always going to show up to stretch. You don't need to play it either, checking in and out alone will work :)

If you go to a mystery island, chop down all trees, pluck flowers, and destroy rocks, you can get them to start spawning granted you came at the spawn time. You may also get a mystery island full of them by pure luck if you get one. Good luck getting that island, I haven't gotten it yet on this save.

so the first day theyll ask to move. the day after, that villager will be in boxes (if you said yes to the move) -- you can adopt the villager at this point!!. the day after that, theyll be gone and the plot will be empty -- you can villager hunt at this point!

you want to wait until somebody has a villager you want in boxes, then youll visit their island and talk to the villager until you get the dialogue for them wanting to move, and then you can invite them (the villager) to live in your island. make sure they agree to move and youre good to go !

Ok, so I make my post, and then someone who doesn't want beau but has him move to their island can invite me to their island where I will talk to him and have him move to my island instead/in addition to? Or does it just have to be in the first day he moves there?

if somebody has Beau in boxes, theyll make a post and/or dm you saying theyre able to trade! from their youll get the users dodo code to get in their island. once youre on their island, theyll take you to Beau's house, where you can go in and talk to Beau. from that point, keep talking to Beus until he mentions wanting a new place to live, which will trigger a choice where you can wish him luck, or invite him to your island. after that, youre able to go back to your island and check your empty plot -- if the plot says SOLD youre able to check who it got sold to; if it says Beau then youre all good and he'll be moving in the next day!

I recommend buying 10 turnips, letting them spoil, and that is how you get the fly and ants

• Ant: same as Fly only, it's candy or spoiled turnips.

• Mole cricket: underground. Use a shovel where noise is loudest.

• Blue Marlin: At the pier.

Other alternative, not great but could work, is go to either a NMT or Kapp’n tour in the right season (Kapp’n tours you can often guess from other clues what time year it is, and should know the time you leave your island) and just start digging soon after you arrive.

It could take a lot of shovels, so you’d need to go prepared, and just dig everywhere until you find a mole cricket. Hello everyone! I need a bit of help.
I am really close with finishing to decorating my Island but I am stuck on a very small section of it (I marked it with a red line in one of the pictures).
The area is surrounded by Dobi’s house, my farm, a rock farm and an overgrown bamboo forest while also being close to a rivers end xD

For now I added a bit of the overgrown bamboo forest theme to that small section and I used to have a shrine on my island so I put 2 dog statues and the gong I used to have on my island.

But I don’t think it looks that good.. anyone has any bright ideas to share with me?

I'm new to the game and I'm wondering why lot of people "roll" their villagers. Whats the point on doing it? I know they have different personalities but I've read that it doesn't affect the gameplay in a significant way. So I'm just wondering why do that?

Personal preference mainly. A lot of people follow themes and that includes villagers.

To complete the answer there are 8 different main personalities, with subtle differences inside of each one. The first 6 villagers you will host have locked personalities, so it is mainly for looks. At the start some people also want a certain type of native flowers and fruits that might induce the reroll. Note that the first 5 villagers won't have their default house on your island, unless you have the dlc.

Each villager has their own houses. For example the Monkey Simon, has the inside of his home looking like a night camp. But since you craft things for the first 5 villagers to help them settle, they don't have this. Simon for example will have a wooden home with the fruit items you crafted.

If you have the dlc or if Simon is adopted by someone else this resets.

Oh yes, sorry. Also, your Resident Services must be upgraded to a building, and you must complete Tom Nook's DIY customization workshop. I find talking to Isabelle when it comes to island ratings has been a helpful guide on what I need to work on to get a better rating.

Paintings: Redd (the fox looking guy who will visit your island occasionally) will sell both authentic and fake art pieces but be sure to check their authenticity before donating them to the museum.
If Redd is on your island during morning announcements Isabelle won't outright say Redd is visiting, but will say something along the lines of warning you about fake paintings or that someone is docked at secret beach. Also you can take a look at #redd-paintings-and-statues

okay so for the plots, if you stay on the same day and dont go past 5am on that day, the plot will stay open, and you can replace a villager by inviting from your campsite (not others campsites) or using an amiibo. hopefully that makes sense

I have a peculiar situation and my question doesn't seem to have been asked here before.

I bought a switch, it just arrived today, to play animal crossing for the first time since 2021. When I lived with my parents, we had a family switch, and me and my sisters shared an island. However, my sisters have a significant age gap to me, and the switch was registered under my nintendo account.

I just logged into that same nintendo account on this switch, without thinking, to find that the animal crossing game is already bought and available. I know that people buy second switches to get second islands and that it doesn't erase the progress on the first island - I've figured that much out, so I'm not too worried about erasing my sister's island.

I am worried about the few things I've seen that say "you can't play both at the same time." I don't have contact to my sisters - my parents disowned me and I'm not allowed to talk to my sisters since they're still in grade school, so I have no idea to figure out if they're still logged into my nintendo account there or if they still often play animal crossing.

What kind of problems could/would pose here? And would it kick me/my sisters off the game at any point if there was an insane coincidence we happen to play at the same time? (I haven't talked to them in three years - I have no clue) Should I make another nintendo account? Can I even do that now that I've logged in already?

Shovel is best if you dig two holes behind you and stand between the holes and the rock so you don't get pushed back. But yes hit rock.

Basically you stand one square diagonal to the rock (ie North-East of it) and dig two holes (in this example one hole North and one East) of yourself. Then face the rock and spam hit it. If you do this well you can get up to 8 items from each rock per day

1. It is under my understanding that if you’re playing on the same Switch you can switch from physical to digital, and your save file will stay. If you’re playing on a new Switch you’ll need to use the island transfer tool to move your island data, or start over if you’ve already made a new island.
2. I believe the island creator (you) is the only person that can be the island rep. So if your mom wants to be the rep she would have to start a new island herself.
   Please let me know if that answered your questions.

1. look at #villager-trade to post a "looking for" post for that villager.
2. Look for that villager using Nook Mile Tickets (this can be tedious and won't always be the villager you're looking for).
3. Buy the villager's amiibo off someplace like eBay, Etsy, etc.
4. Sometimes a villager will visit your campsite and you can ask them to live on your island but it's not promised to be the villager you want.
   Having an empty plot will make things a lot easier, esp. if you're trading with someone on #villager-trade

To invite people:
Go to the airport and click "I want visitors" you can then pick local or online play. Then you can decide if you want to invite people via dodo code or "all my friends". If you pick the dodo code you then can share it with people you aren't switch friends with to visit your island.

If you get the thought bubble, then it does work, it's just a matter of luck to get the correct one
Just make sure that the target villager isn't the last one to have moved in, you don't have their house moving kit in your pockets, and their birthday isn't soon

If you're using the amiibo cards, you don't have to invite the amiibo villager to the campsite 3 days consecutively, fyi. You can invite them twice and then wait and hold off until the plot is built to scan the third time.

Auto fill is when a villager fills automatically a plot, without you inviting them. It happens randomly, but if you play online, visiting other island, you what what is called a moving queue. A queue of villagers that have been moving out and not adopted, that jump in the queue. So you might have up to 4 villagers ready to hop in any time. So if you have a plot opened, and don't fill it the day it is placed, chances are the next day they will hop in. Since they are the latest villager they can't ask to move out, but can be kicked by a camper, amiibo or natural

Anyhow, today FINALLY a stupid villager told me he wanted to leave
When do I have to go to an island to find a new one. Tomorrow? Or the day after?
I don’t want a random villager coming into my island again and being stuck with it for months lol

If a villager asked to move out today, they will be "in boxes" ready to be adopted the next day you log in, so should be tomorrow if you log in. Then the following day (the day directly after the villager was in boxes) the plot is empty and that's when you can look for villagers.
Limitations to be aware of :
You can only adopt 1 villager per day on mystery islands no need to place multiple plots.
The plot can automatically fill the day after it's empty. If you play online it definitely will auto fill the following day

Well, the Nook Miles mystery islands layouts are randomized, and the main ~4 normal island layouts are very common, so it's normal if you get those a lot. As for meeting Rex again, you can randomly meet on those islands nearly any of the 413 villagers that exist in the game, so yes you could meet him again, but it might take a very long time if you're unlucky!

Nothing went wrong, this is normal, the player accounts are just disconnected from the console's Nintendo accounts because you moved the island between consoles
Just open the game using the Nintendo accounts that you want to link to the existing players, and choose "Existing data"
Otherwise you'll just create a new player, the others won't be deleted either way

I’m incredibly curious about what happens after a villager moves to another players island: do they keep their old clothes and phrases on another players island or is their old data completely scratched and they’re back to their old clothes and phrases when they’ve been moved? Because I have learned all my villagers to say “slay”, “yaaas”, “yas queen”, “babes” and stuff because I find it funny, but that doesn’t really match cranky personalities for example lol and I’m scared that some people are gonna be annoyed by it if I give a villager away 🙈

Yes they keep presents such as clothes, and furniture (including custom designs at ables), this is why some people prefer their villager "ungifted"
For the nickname and greetings, this should be linked to your interactions only since this requires a bit of friendship.
The clothes they are wearing and way they talk can be reset by Isabelle. The house is a bit more complicated, unless you have the dlc

Clifftop ponds are not necessary, they don't differ from normal ponds, for river you just need to be above the seawater/ground level, so you need running water on any cliff

Nice question! Here are some tips I hope will help. Build Bridges and Inclines, Upgrade Buildings, Invite More Villagers, This is one of the most critical steps. You need a minimum of 7 villagers, but having 8 or more is often a necessary trigger for the 3-star rating.
Talk to Tom Nook about selling land for housing plots to place around your island. Try placing stuff outside your houses, like Flowers, benches, fences, etc

Well I did play this game in 2020 but i definitely didn’t like how I played back then cause I had an ugly island with 999 million bells so after 5 years or so I have come back fresh with so much new stuff and I wanted to play “properly” this time so idk if I should buy things from people

Fish and bugs you'll need to catch yourself, it's not tradable. But art it is encouraged!

Nat types reflect your internet connection. You need to test yours out to determine the rank, if it's below B, you most likely will have trouble, either reset your router or try another wifi

Hope this a good place to put this but i Thought id share a trick i learned a while back for tarantula/ scorpion island. You make a H like this. You go out with your net run to get ones attention then run in and run INTO one of the H corners it will make you jump over the hole. You in the safe spot the longer sides trap the tarantula and it will run around in circles and you stand onthe other side and catch it with your net! Filled my entire inv. Using this! Now to wait for flick to come to my island 😂 Happy hunting! 🏝️

Not really, if you visit someone and they have cute furniture in their shop, go ahead, if they have nice turnip prices go ahead, if you are missing an item in particular you're free to look for someone to trade. Play as you wish to. The game isn't ever finished anyway

There’s more than one way to play the game. I think the game can get really grindy so Nours suggested that but go with whatever you feel is best at the end of the day

You don't have to be grindy about it, best I played was in 2020, no time travel, encountering people visiting their island "omg what is this called ? Could I trade it?" But some people prefer to have the shop properly unlocked, or certain items they really like. All is the restrictions and moderation.

If you need stairs go to tom nook, ask about infrastructure and choose inclines, once you have chosen your model you need to place it. Then you'll have to pay for it via Lloid

You need to have unlocked the building of resident services to do that if you don't have it already

You can redeem Nook Miles at the Nook Stop terminal inside Resident Services. If you go there and click "redeem nook miles" you'll see everything available. You’ll find things like fences, Nook Miles Tickets etc. So you can check out if anything appeals to you! 🙂
