Amiibo cards are physical cards, kind of like trading cards, but they have techy stuff in them, like Nintendo Amiibo figurines. For the purposes of animal crossing, you can use these cards for really three things:

1. utilizing the ABD in the resident services center, you can invite the villager whose card you have to come to your campsite. If you have them come 3 days and you craft the thing that they ask for 3 times, they will move in and you can choose a specific villager for them to replace.
2. you can scan the card while you are at Harv's island, and they can be used in photopia. You'll also get their posters in the nook store
3. you can scan the cards and invite the villager on the card for coffee in the roost

I told her no to her suggestion.

Is she basically rejected permanently now? Even though the prompt to get her to stay keeps showing up, and she sometimes says, "maybe, ask me again later"

Sorry if this is already written somewhere and I missed it - after a villager has asked to move out and I say yes, will the plot eventually auto fill? If yes, when will this happen/how long do I have to search for a new villager on mystery islands? Thanks!

Day 1: Villager asks to leave
Day 2: Villager is in boxes (and can be adopted by someone coming to visit you/them)
Day 3: Plot is 'empty' and available for you to find someone to fill it (with nook trips or adopting someone else's, if possible)
Day 4: This is the first day that it can be autofilled

Yeah pretty much. You can time travel on Day 3 back to 5.01am (because that's when the day will refresh) so that you stay on Day 3 if you don't find someone. There's not a 100% guarantee of an autofill (depends on if you play with others by visiting them/they visit you) but it'll be the day after it's an empty plot that it can be

Hmm you mentioned that you used the moveout method earlier today? Did you kick someone out and move in a new villager? If so, I’d recommend syncing back to real time once the new villager is fully moved in. Then make sure to speak with all your villagers again before you choose to start the tt move-out method again

Bubbles happen once a day, and the chance of it being a move out bubble is low. They only last for a few minutes like no chops I want you off rn 🤨🤨

I been playing ACNH with mi Switch Lite and recently bought a OLED one, I was trying to transfer (or download it from de NSO cloud) the save data to the OLED so I can play on the tv but the systems says there is no data of ACNH on the console or cloud...

How to move your Animal Crossing: New Horizons island to a different Nintendo Switch

• 1. Download the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Island Transfer Tool from the eShop on both Nintendo Switches.
• 2. Make sure Animal Crossing: New Horizons is updated to the latest version on both consoles.
• 3. Launch the Island Transfer Tool on both consoles and follow the on-screen instructions.

You can only invite them at harv’s island for posters and photos and at the roost for hanging out and photos too. Also if you have the dlc (happy home paradise) and unlocked that amiibo feature you can scan them and make a vacation for them.

If you mean for villagers 3-5 in the storyline you can talk to Isabelle about resetting their houses once you progress further (assuming you have the HHP DLC anyway).

You can also get other players to “foster” the villager for you too though

I’m not sure there is an exact % chance (anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong though). Once you reach a high enough friendship, villagers can have a chance to ask you about changing their nickname. But they can adopt each other’s custom catchphrases as well, and as far as I’m aware it’s just random.

Yes 9/10 of my villagers have the same catchphrase, it's random as in RNG decides if a villager will learn the catchphrase so there has to be a % chance of it happening

I also want to know if witnessing a conversation has a higher, lower or equal chance as apposed to it happening either off-screen or without pressing anything while they converse

I can only find info online about the fact that they spread catchphrases by talking to eachother, seems to be little to no real info about it beyond that

What determines the song a villager is singing?

I have many music players outside on Shuffle, but my villagers only ever sing KK Dirge. I have 1 music player playing Dirge (hidden far in the back of the map, no villagers can currently hear it) and about 5 or more playing on Shuffle all over the island. They only ever sing Dirge.

Will they ignore every other song if even 1 music player is set to one specific song? They always prefer Dirge over Shuffle so I have to assume they will always sing whatever song you've manually set and ignore Shuffle as long as at least 1 player has a set song.

Despite it being impossible for villagers to actually hear Dirge

They'll sing any song you set it to regardless if a music player is near them or not, I have one located at the opposite side of the island and they still sing the song its playing

It basically programs what the villagers will sing whenever a music player isn't near them

From my experience, villagers don't sing along to shuffle music players. I think it makes sense from a game dev perspective, given that the song changes after two loops, it's be awkward if they started singing then the song changes right after and they sing something completely different or stop singing immediately lol

I've got 3 catchphrase transfers doing this but was wondering if there's a faster way

Seems like certain personality types are incapable of spreading catchphrases to other specific personalities (or I'm incredibly unlucky and only a small handful of conversations keep repeating)

I'm just stuck on the last 2 villagers, they just. Won't. Learn it. I think personality types determine if a villager will pick up a catchphrase from another villager, some personalities do not seem to have the dialogue options for sharing catchphrases with other specific personality types

It's not impossible that the devs did not plan catchprase-stealing interactions for certain personality pairs

Though all personalities should have such interactions with at least a couple of other personalities

You can try digging for such possibilities in the game's dialogue files, if you want to try to find hard proof that some pairs don't work

Almost all of my villagers are either smug, normal or cranky and I think one of those pairings does not transfer catchphrases, I've been using this method for 2 days straight and now 8/10 villagers share a catchphrase... except for Roswell and Del T.T

No, it's a normal fish that can be caught in any weather anywhere in the sea. It just has a requirement of having ever caught 50 fish before it can spawn, which you most likely have already, otherwise it's just rare.

These have two different personalities, so pairs are probably not the issue...
I don't think there are limits to how many times a catchphrase can be transferred, but in case there is one, you could instead try to enhance your friendship with these two remaining villagers and get them to ask a new catchphrase, to input the same as the one the others have

I think my roommate put it well when she said it’s minecraft but cuter lol. It’s still a little more structured than that though. You’re not building with blocks per se most of the time, you get actual items. I’d say about 60-70% of the items you can buy with bells (the in-game currency) and the rest you craft. It’s not impossible without NSO but NSO also makes it gameplay much easier

(Will say it’s actually impossible to get all the fruit without NSO though, unless you use local play to get the rest with someone you know irl)

The game rolls for species first then the specific villager within that species. Since you already have 3/4 octopuses, it’d be 100% chance of getting the 4th one if the game picks octopus as the species. So your chances are 1/35 since there’s 35 species.

Unless you have a full set of another species, like all 4 cows? Then I guess your chances would be slightly higher ^^

There's always enough rocks if you are not in a hurry, it just takes time.
However if you want to speed this up, you can fo to mystery islands with nook miles tickets, each islands have at least 4 rock with better odds for iron, you visit the airport with a ticket in your pocket. There's also blue balloons that can have iron in them
Lastly you can trade if you have online, find someone offering iron, get your end of the trade in your inventory and again go see the airport using the info your trade partner gave you (dodo code, friend code...)

The spawn rate does not affect the breeding odds, only if a flower can /will breed.
If your pair can make a more uncommon hybrid, with a rate of let's say 12%, they will still have the same rate, ony they will breed more often with the visitor bonus

You’re not doing anything wrong! The tuna has a super low spawn rate (2) so it is rare. You’ll likely have to use quite a bit of fish bait in order to catch one. (Also, depending on how new you may be, it’s worth noting that you have to have caught at least 50 fish since you started the island before tuna can appear)

If there’s no space for something to drop from the tree, then that could be it. If not, then you may have just missed shaking a tree(s) somewhere. The only other reason I can think of that would prevent one from spawning is if you have your airport gates open

Pay attention to what Isabelle suggests you do - fencing, furniture, flowers, trees, etc. It will feel like you need to put out a lot to get there but even if you just dump it all over the place to get the rating, get the concert, and get terraforming unlocked, you can always take stuff away to rearrange later. Your rating can drop back to two stars but you won't lose the skills you've unlocked

You're at the point that Tom will force you to take certain villager types rather than explore for them, but you will be able to explore again further along in the game 🙂

you can travel to other islands using nook miles tickets and try your luck there. You can also catch wasps by shaking trees and catching when they’re about to attack you or trying to catch tarantulas at night. Moths also show up near light sources at night
