Why not ?
Because on medium side idk what to do and i mostly get rekt by some td. Also the only good scenario for this map is when i play a stealthy td or hulldown tank but i dont own such tanks
Ok well the main objective for the mediums is the spot the tds who are camping in 2 of the 3 sniper positions by flanking, then farming and heavy down in the pit

The only thing I REALLY wish that they would add to blitz from wot is the music. I know we have music from wot, but they have unique songs to each map, all sounding amazing. Something small, and in my opinion easily doable
That would be really cool, as well as adding music during the battle, would make it a lot more atmospheric.

In 2020 blitz had graphics of almost a 2018 game, so it was almost fine
i think wg needs to like add an option where all the graphics is like the old one
Rn blitz has almost up-to-date graphics, which require a not-almost-10yo processor

everything is in ultra low but i still see the new graphics the only setting that i had put on low (not ultra low) is draw distance so i can see the tracks

These are the minimum spec requirements. Your system is inadequate. I doubt you were running 60fps before pbr started either.

half the reason i hate Castilla is just due to the fact it runs horribly on my PC
which can manage every other map at pretty mid-high graphics, at a constant smooth 60fps
but not Castilla.
best it can do normally is 20-45 fps

Well if you have a reasonably good PC, you'd expect a game that runs on mobiles to run well on your system
this, i guess many people just have really shitty PC's or tons of bottle necks. one thing these people should try is closing some backround process. so many people just dont do it and then complain about bad performance.
Yeah that is quite true. But I will still mention that the PC ports aren't nearly as optimized as mobile. Not to mention PC doesn't get the dynamic resolution thing to maintain fps at the cost of graphics dynamically.
Even if the PC clients are optimized more in the next few months, more pbr maps will come and performance won't increase dramatically. You get 20 fps now on castilla, you'll likely continue to get similar performance on other remastered maps when they arrive. People will have to sacrifice visuals for fps.
true, but thats there choice. if you complain about fps lower your graphics quality. and if you complain about bad graphics lower your fps. if you complain about both get a better pc/phone/computer and stop telling wg to "fix their game".

Also if you want to boost performance, you could try Razer Cortex. They have performance boost things as well as other optimization options (such as cleaning unused RAM)

Dont be too exposed and keep the gun firing, the ground arent completely even (there are also on some spots at the cave) so at some spot the lfp arent visible

I would rather they include different spawn layouts per map, would make the game a lot more interesting and it’s easy to do
They should design new maps with that as a possibility. I don't think there are many maps that would allow for different spawns without giving one team a big advantage. Partly because of how maps have been designed so far(3 lanes)

Optimization means that a program should run properly for most devices which make a programs lowest common denominator(lowest end device)

Tbh I really dislike how a lot of the maps make the town segments in one corner of the map where most of the time fighting never takes place
What happened to that Asian map with the creek & bridge on med side then town with circle platform
Lost Temple is gone
Would be cool if wg adds more historical maps, maybe something like a 1944 normandy village that takes up 80% of the map with hedgerows, small farms and some other stuff. The terrain are almost flat with very small elevation changes so players would have to rely to buildings as main cover in the map.
Im not talking about the beachfront btw (since that already exists ingame), this one is the normandy campaign after the landings.

Its more either just a place for lights to disappear into or for TDs to set up since there is an elevation in the town. That corner is pretty hard to reach and exit so going there with a heavy tank probably wont work.

And actually last yr u had an fps issue which when figuring out it WG turned out to be some files that they put in their update packages :V
I really liked the original lost temple
The cap was easier to deal with (still hard if enemies held the temple) and the town area was nicer imo
(Type 71 is not OP and never was) No problem with any of these, just remove Castilla. And who even said about the graphics? The map is trash, graphics have nothing do to with it. Why do you think everyone is calling it "campstilla"? Its peak terrible map design, it's a textbook example of how to not design maps in this game, yet they somehow chose this for the pbr, awful.

Because out of all 3 of those jokes Castilla is actually bad, it can't be stressed enough how terribly toxic and unfun this map is. It's not even that it's hard to win on it, that's not the problem, the problem is just trash gameplay and map design overall, forcing or encouraging most players to camp.
I do rather like Castilla now, I know how to play on the map and I can predict enemy positions most of the time, plus with the PBR update it lookers cooler imo
As I said, winning is not the problem, I just find the playstyle to be terrible, especially since it encourages bad players to play even worse than they already do.

Do you plug your laptop onto charge when you play?
If not, plug it in to charge while playing, it helps.

When you plug your laptop in, your CPU/APU can then clock up to its max rated frequency because you're supplying it with more power. Hence better performance and fps.
The water on Castilla is very detailed and probably has more polygons, making it more taxing
But that laptop isn't enough for Castilla PBR
Depends what laptop too, mine's a Dell G5 SE, with 8GB of Ram, AMD Ryzen 5 4600H with Radeon Graphics RX but yeah I think only very decent laptops could
I run a custom-built desktop with a Ryzen 5 3600, 32gb RAM at 3600Mhz CL18 (G.Skill TridentZ Neo) and an RTX 3060Ti (MSI Gaming X), so Castilla with PBR is a walk in the park.
But only laptops with either a very powerful APU (So like Ryzen 6000) or a discrete GPU (So like a mobile GTX 1650) could run Castilla PBR well.

To his defense, if you do not have hulldown heavies / good heavy teammates, it becomes a tricky slugfest in Dead Rail most of the time, same stuff for medium side
Medium side requires depression, if you don’t have it you’re better off going thru the town to try and get behind the enemy meds, but that’s a gamble in of its own

I actually don't mind med side, it seems usable, and I think a map with crossfire lanes etc. is actually a good thing, I don't like the heavy side much though, @lament widget not quite, there's some good sidescraping spots, and some spots you can use to artificially create depression, they are a bit situational though
worst map imo is mines or faust, they are just annoying to play
On mines u just need to take control of the hill if u are anything but a td, and that's all (you lose the hill=autolost most of the time)
Faust is all centered on A, just go there no matter what you're playing and then change strategy depending on what happens (if you're a fast tank you could also rush B and then go from the rocket silo and shoot enemy meds in the back
You can nicely see it with modded free cam (In replays, it's not a hack bruh)
you used to be able to go to the river by pushing on the fences, but as per usual they added invisible walls
WG esports loves to promote these ‚unintended‘ positions and WG map loves to throw as many invisible walls as possible in the way

They should be put back to the original design lol, desert sands with that cool looking sniping spot, and falls Creek with a bridge and more hilly terrain
There should be semi jungle maps for wotb, preferably themed to pacific islands during ww2. the map gives more overall concealment and gives challenge for spotting, give it enough hard cover options so it wouldnt be a td farm fest. The cap circle would be on a hut village that has a radio station.
Tbh that sounds like a nice idea, but for jungle maps you need trees but WoTb doesn’t really have solid trees you can’t knock down
Probably tall bamboo plants and large trees like Narra tree that cant be knocked down as obstacles. there would be palm trees, banana trees which can be run over. Tall grass areas would give totally different way of concealing tanks rather than the traditional bushes. Imagine e25 hiding on one lol

Probably got something to do with game performance, Castilla frequently gets bad feedbacks due to it "not being optimized enough" or "very laggy" since pbr model was added.
Falls creek seems to be the next map to recieve it basing from the IS-2S leak but i dont know when that would be added to the game.
They have alot on hold, they have already made a small rework of desert sands too, and have entire new map ready for release. The question is just when.

Playing mediums like progetto46 i've gotten Castilla 44 times in 2 months. Nearest high visit map is Faust at 20. With heavies Castilla still top visit map but others closer behind.

they just made it in hd, so it's reasonable they slightly increased the chance of players it; such large disparity is due to the fact that 30d aren't a long enough period of time imo

9.4/.5 new map is my estimate cuz 1/3rd of the yr- 1 new map therefore 3 new maps in a yr

My strat for Castilla is to have some heavy’s go heavy side and some go castle with meds. That way the Heavys on heavy side can spot up other heavy and the meds can snipe the heavy or fight the other meds with the heavy at med side
The whole point in Castilla is to crush the med side with whoever is there; C part of the map is completly usless, you just get sniped from every direction providing minimal if not none spotting advantage to your team
But if your team dosnt push med side quick enough your entire team is stuck there while the enemy heavy’s can farm ur team
it's a race for the med side, as in mines for the hill
That's all, if you're in any other part of the map and the enemys take the curch you're done
Well everytime my entire team went church side we got farmed by enemy heavy’s and tds
BTW would it be possible for wg to restore all the old maps that have been removed/reworked for an update? As an event type thing, older players would find it nostalgic and newer players really interesting, idk if it could be a game mode or something (probably make the game ridiculously large) just one of those silly ideas that everyone has that probably isn't even possible let alone probable that it will happen, I thought the idea was kind of neat though

For map control holding your spawn TD positions, atleast in pubs is pretty important. in my experiance.

you can play on it, but the surface hitboxes would still be of that of the replaced map
like for example if you modded molendijk to the old rockfield, itll look like the old rockfield but the surface is still molendijk

I guess it’s similar to a tank skin, seems hard to understand how it would work though
a guy driving on old middleburg, see how the tank isnt level on the ground because the surface is that of the new map
For instance the td sniping spot on old desert sands, if you modded the new desert sands to add that you couldn’t use it to snipe, the actual map doesn’t have the range to let you fire from it, your shots would hit buildings, cause in reality you’re driving across flat ground even though it looks like you’re going up a hill

Himmelsdorf are sort of close to the bombed out city of Berlin on the near end of war, the WoT PC Himmelsdorf includes two buildings that can be found at Berlin irl.
Would like to have another map like it though but on spring theme, preferably themed to 1945 Cologne, Germany
If it has to be something "new" then a ww2 pacific theatre themed map would be nice imo.
Himmelsdorf needs the Bradenburg Gate. It's the way to make it cool

I'm sick of not being able to play at max graphic settings because of one stupid map (which is also the worst map in the game and should be removed permamently).
Normally, I can play the game at highest setting in stable 60fps, but on Castilla it drops drastically. Because of literally one map I have to play on medium settings. It doesn't even look that good, it's supposed to be HD but still looks like it was made 10 years ago, it's simply not worth over the performance.

I go city in middleburg. They say "Go hill". I went hill. Team retreated to city. I had a 4 vs 1 and managed to kill one of them 👍

Basically, game data is sent between your device and the server in “packets”. A packet might include data such as the inputs from your joystick, server-side enemy positions information, etc…
That % Loss indicates how many of those data packets are being lost. Packet loss will result in things like choppy gameplay and non-responsive controls

They removed it over a year ago alongside Lost Temple for reworks.
Wargaming indicated they want to make the maps accessible in high tiers, as well as make Supremacy an option for Mirage.

Oh I didn’t know Mirage was encounter only; I wonder if they will remake mines and/or copper field some day with supremacy. Btw Mirage was in higher tiers at first wasn’t it, like copperfield, or not?

Copperfield hasn't got supremacy, well unless I remember wrongly cause I don't play lower tiers much, and yes mines is pretty small but you could have one on the island side and on cap base side, and have them asymmetrical so each team gets one, then have a third contested one in the little spot between the rock and the hill where everyone dies 😈 (it would probably need a rework, possibly a cap on the hill with the map like the original version with easier access to the hill might work)

Are all maps same size, or is there an actual “biggest” map?
Officially they keep claiming that all maps are of the same size, atleast they did. But they clearly are not, look at Copperfield then Normandy or Yukon.
This just speaks of dimensions. Maps differ in playable area too. Mines that has like a third of the map unplayable (out of bounds) vs something like Middleburg which has far more area that is playable
That would be really cool, no more csgo style gameplay for that map.
You can look at the dimensions of each map on mapinspector, they’re all different.
I just hope that if they do add the castle area, they add a few places you can jump off onto people
The reason they never originally added it is because they stated it causes “gameplay issues”

On WoT PC, the east of the map has a castle on a hill. This section of the map was added on the blitz version but the map dimensions where changed and the castle was cut off because of “gameplay issues”. It gave himmelsdorf a rectangular dimension of 442x516

I do hope they expand to the castle area, but of course map size is an issue for mobile yet if we look at the size of canal, expanding to make the castle area part of the map may not be much of a stretch if done carefully. #maps-discussion
They removed Mirage, this is sad, even though it was small it was still beautiful, I hope they don't wreck it as it's colour pallet was vibrant and captured the scene quite vividly. I did hear they may be reworking it but I hope the rework is just an expansion of this particular environment and not a rework of how it functions terrain wise. It just needs to be a bit larger. #maps-discussion

I feel the same on this one, I loved Lost Temple with it's ambience and it's scene. It was actually big enough for tier 10's I don't see where people got the idea it wasn't but it was brilliant. I'd be very happy to see either the first version of this map, or this version reinstated how it was in these images, maybe just a slight expansion of this current version for additional size of the area. You do not have to rework an entire map if it needs slight refinements. #maps-discussion

I agree, this would be a brilliant expansion of Dynasty's Pearl. It would give the map another layer of gameplay diversity, consequentially making it more interesting to play on, they would have to add some bridges & a land mass to join the rivulet effectively or some other sensibly creative idea with the rest of the map though. This map is nice, except I really don't like playing on it as it's way to restrictively small for the environment it's set in. iv'e noticed a pattern to this with the recent map implementations. More maps with diversity similar if not better than Canal would be appreciated. #maps-discussion
I have one additional suggestion directly to the WG Map Developers, Please reinstate the burnt top bushes to Black Goldville as this is extremely realistic due to the climate and setting of this map. The current bushes that are visible should only be in areas with less direct or no direct sunlight. Also, there should be less of them as this is the only time they will not be burnt by such climate situations. #maps-discussion
Suggestion For Map - Vineyards Please consider bringing back the Dusk version of this map alongside the current daytime version, this can add to the map-pool additionally, allowing two different time situations for the map in-game, if this is not possible, i'd suggest the dusk version be fully reinstated as this was a good ambience and suited the map and map location extremely well. #maps-discussion

Terrain in reality is not always balanced. It’s good to have a mixture of balanced and “unbalanced”. Otherwise every map will be the same both sides. Some places are definitely symmetrical but it should only be symmetrical or unsymmetrical if the particular battlefield location requires it.

Canal has a very unbalanced mt side. The mts at the green dot can spit the enemies crossing the red square while there's no bush on red square. Please add a bush here(red square)WG
It's legit an excellent hulldown spot... why would they add a bush if it's a strong holding position
The green spot is hulldown too......? It's just so stupid when you are say a batchat, Sheridan or leopard. You don't have any other choice except crossing and while crossing you get spotted
I would only cross if you're faster than all your enemies, imo crossing isn't necessary always, although I do enjoy that bush I don't find it particularly annoying when facing it, easy to blind shot even if you felt like it.
The hull down spot is actually a lot better where the red square is, the bush side can't be used nearly as effectively due to the ground layout.

What I'm saying is,if you are at the green spot in a paper tank you can just sit in the bush till the enemy crosses over but in the red square there is no scope for light armored tanks. They can either cross(and get spotted) or wait for the hull down( armored) team-mates to spot(yeah,like that's possible nowadays)
This is the counter position. You also sit hulldown, also use most or all of your gundepression and also have bush camo
(These are pine trees which is why they cover you all the way to the bottom)
I don't think they count as cover, there's a large clear gap you can see through, if you pushed it over it would make good cover

Minimal protection for the crews but it could be air dropped and it had a 90mm gun which was capable of good fire power for where it needed to be

WG will not gonna remove Mirage, consider it was an ancient map in Blitz, either renovation or expansion... The truth they had told us to bring those back
The thing good with Mirage in my opinion was it's general open feeling, the exact opposite of Dynasty's Pearl for example. That open sensation made so heavies doesn't have advantage except where they're supposed to be at.
This map is completly different. There is a playground on middle but completely surrounded by walls, cliffs and other obstacles which in my opinion will make this spot a dead area, reinforced by these chokepoints.
Mirage offered alot of cover opportunities, although last time i went multiple rounds there (Tier V, 2020 Holidays) the battle was mostly decided by which team wins the heavy side (Waterfalls).
The map are fun in the lower tiers though especially that the AI were just driving over the dunes

I loved the "garage" (camping in the woods) in the La Reunion event. Ever since then, I've wished they would make a new map around that garage spot. Instead of less vegetation, I'd like to see more! I think it would be the best to have forest/jungle maps, even swamp maps where your tank can get stuck in the mud. But dense forest maps like the North of France would be the coolest to me.

A rudimentary idea for such a map
Port bay needs a rework. South spawn is critically disadvantaged in almost all games:
- meds have a harder time crossing, easier for them to get shot by TDs and there seems to be more incentive for less skilled players to go town.
Heavies do not have easy access into lower cover behind base C, and are extremely easy to snipe from across river if you try to stay on the pavement against the hill. Enemy team always has an easier time pushing up and getting hull down positions, sweeping into c and getting on the hill just past it to shoot across river. I would love if we could see map stats on WR for each side? Town is almost always disadvantageous from the start regardless, so that doesn’t improve your chances much anyways. Are there any plans to rework the map? I think at this point everyone knows it’s not in a good state. Nobody even goes to the heavy side more than 1 in 15 games anyways

Also that one desert map with a boat stuck on a rock that’s way up there somewhere has one of those planes that flies across dead rail at the beginning of battle ( I still don’t know the name it’s like BV or ME something) and because we know that the Austrian painter sent supplies in those planes to North Africa which is in the desert maybe an allied fighter shot down one of those bug supply planes and it crashed on that map? More wotb lore confirmed?
Those are two different planes though, those that fly over on Dead Rail are larger and has 6 propellers, the ones on Desert Sands only has 2.
Only WG and God knows when, if it will be readded ingame even.

castilla honestly should just get removed or should have a forced number of meds/lights on both teams
its unplayable if one side has either just top tier meds and the other doesnt
its also impossible to push when both sides get the utterly stupid amount of 3 tds per team
and you cant spot the meds camping on hill either because rotating would get you killed by all the camping TDs

its impossible to play on that map if people just claim hill and hold heavy line
if the numbers/ tiers of meds lights are different for both teams the meds are even less likely to go where theyre needed becasue they see that theyre at a disadvantage but they dont know thats its almost impossible to pull of a win if they dont do it
Castilla is literally one of the most imbalanced maps there is imo
one spawn has the insane TD positions that you somtimes cant even spot from hill unless you go into the open which gets you killed easily
on the other side you barely have any space for the TDs and thyre instantly spotted from hill
the spawn with the really good TD position also has the more useful bush and easier hulldown on the med hill imo
and the other sides also has a weaker heavy line because its easier farmable from med side
I actually like Castilla, it’s a decent size with some nice crossfires, although heavy side can be a bit of a nightmare. Sure it’s kind of a TD map but not if meds are decent, it can be a real nightmare for TDs. At the same time it’s good the way TDs can help support where needed. Yes this is gonna get a lot of negative answers lol

I play meds mostly, so I don’t notice that too badly. I agree heavy side can be annoying, at the same time it’s a very important crossfire and needs to be spotted, and if you’re cautious it should be fine to work up that side
If you leave the heavy side open, then your TDs are vulnerable
most of the battles I play everyone goes to med side anyway, I don't really care for my TDS much because they don't usually amount to anything in the end
Not a good way to think of TDs, especially on Castilla. And crossfires are quite important, so heavy side shouldn’t be left unattended imo, unless maybe your entire team rushes straight across the bridges on med side through to in front of enemy spawn sort of area
my TDS can't do much of anything on Castilla is the enemy is playing smart and hiding and fighting in places out of view from my TDS
most of the fighting happens on the hill, TDS can't snipe through the buildings
or fighting happens by the A cap, and again TDS can't snipe through buildings
Yeah, well that’s when you have to use your brain cells (whatever’s left of them after talking to me on here 😂) and play cautiously to bait them into the TDs, don’t worry they’ll be scared of them. And that’s where I kind of like Castilla too, one med can potentially hold off a lot more due to TDs, although sometimes it won’t work if TDs don’t pay attention or something. But same thing with heavies, they can crossfire our tanks trying to push you, and you can do the same to help the heavies getting pushed

I like the concept, but would like to see a big brother to it.
My concept being a Pacific island just barely large enough for one air strip for refueling in the Pacific theater. Basically, a larger version of yours with two sets of docks (that's how the tanks get on shore) so spawns are near docks. Air strip with NO COVER down the middle (sniping from end points). On one side, base housing/quonset huts and a hangar (small city side). On the other side there's a small refueling depot and a jungle area.

Mine really sucks at t10 for one main reason. There is no viable other flank, the river side doesn’t work cause everyone has enough view range to spot you and the town doesn’t work because they just drive onto the hill and your now useless
Minimize the amount of destructable trees but the map are mostly surrounded by undestructible trees. It would be cool if its themed as ww2 pacific, something like Iwo Jima

I think tanks like the 50B, T 57 etc. may have a place going heavy side on mines to try to get some early shots off, and farm an approaching heavy by outtrading it. But that would only be if hill had enough support to hold while you did that

Town is literally the worst position on that map, and it's not close
Town on Mines is literally the best way to simultaneously rob your team of much needed help on the hill, but also to get shot by tanks on the high ground on hill, AND shot by unspotted TDs in the enemy spawn
Literally exposed to 3 different angles with no cover while causing your team to play a tank down

No, that wouldn’t be. Gameplay would be incredibly limited, light tanks and fast TDs would dunk all over heavies with no time to react, it would be hard to get much real terrain differences, and it would turn into a massive brawl with no real strategy or nuance.
I always go town on Mines unless I'm a medium or I have very good gun depression.
Town is okay as long as your team has Hill covered, which allows for a flanking maneuver in which you can use buildings to prevet TDs from making you have a bad day.
But... don't go directly to the down area. Go to the area next to the hill.
Wanna know what the worst area to go in is? Lake/Oceanside.
unless your spawn is the north side, there's a small island that you can use to get a shot or two early game
Firstly, the majority of the time your team will need you on hill, so no, going town is not a smart idea.
Also, the islands have a good spot on both sides for covering the entrance to the hill, and some nice flanking opportunities depending on the enemy line up. They can also be used to farm spotted TDs from a distance, without having to peek hill. But that's fairly situational.
When will Mirage and Lost Temple map come back?

Yeah the pbr maps look worse than they did before and they utterly destroy the whole mobile side of the game. Luckily I got a strong iPad and phone but not that many people have the devices needed to run this so called mobile game now
They should do something similar with the tank models when pbr were introduced. If you set the graphics at high instead of ultra, you get the version without pbr. Personally, I have no performance issues, but it would be a nice touch for people with lower end devices

They feel tiny because maps these days are a lot flatter, and a lot less open. Castilla feels huge right? Well believe it or not it is smaller than a map like ghost factory or Naval frontier.
Castilla doesn’t feel that big. It would just be nicer for the maps to be a little more spread out making tds a bit more usable and lights have a more prominent role in the meta

Caps are very bad tbh, highly exposed, only good in a game where the teams go one side or something, or later game when the team doesn’t have them all covered. B cap is actually ok thinking about it, but doesn’t get used all too much
Which maps do you have in mind? While symmetrical maps are good and fair, I like asymmetrical ones that have different points for each side, as long as one doesn’t have an out right advantage over the other side of course
Maps with different sides make for more interesting gameplay IMO, so I wouldn’t want them all to be identical. But yes they need to be balanced of course.
Port bay is the one in my mind, one side had all advantages like medium tanks side, you can't stay there when enemy med tank using hulldown and if you try to go back you get a shot from the other side easily like it has more advantages than the other position and our Alice are difficult to support med tanks... not only that position same as heavy sides, the reason why med tank side has a big advantage is, that position is a bit higher than the other side means they see your whole body using hulldown and td only see them their turret that's why mostly medium tanks leave that position immediately when they face other tank or they will sacrifice...
Right, I’ve heard complains about this map being imbalanced but I’m not too sure why. It may be bad, but if so it seems equally bad for both sides? The real problem is that like a ton of maps, heavy side/town is unusable in the current meta most of the time. Meds also really need to take the super risky position on the far side of the med side across the river. Yes that’s really painful if you’re not in a hull down tank and the enemy med is. But mostly I think the issue you’re talking about is that you can’t reverse safely cause your rear peeks out and you get nuked by heavies across the river. However, that only happens if heavies don’t go to the forward position around the hill. That’s where this map is really frustrating, it relies heavily on crossfires which means team mates have to take the correct position or you get nuked. Which is very annoying sometimes. But it seems balanced equally for both sides to me, not sure if I’m missing something.
