Good there is a change in Day1 rule since the current system is the worst random eliminator of teams.

What does ”team 2 and 3 get to play on” but ”not qualify” mean? They have own Day2/Day3 series, or? If only minor cups added, this wont change their chanches much. If close to ”normal” cups, this would solve the issue.

That’s how I understood it - that they will have their own day 2. I don’t know if cups are part of the equation, only that they’d still be playing for more prizes, so that it’s not simply over for them

That sounds like it would be a great system for only the first PYS, to lessen the difference in cups. Eliminated teams get their own day 2, and only a day 2, with slightly less cups, and future PYSs are seeded with PYS cp% seeding instead of pub wr seeding. I think that would be good way to keep people quiet about complaining about seeding every season. Or at least some kind of rendition of that.

If you want to argue that the tank should be available in favor of competitiveness, to allow players to have a chance at being able to use all of the tanks they want for better competition, that just applies to every tank.

By the way, you streamed the Grand Final, you must remember that in every match there was at least one Felice, and in some even 3 Felices on the same team (which, by the way, won the Grand Finals). And before some other pretending to be Captain Obvious shows up, I'm not saying they won because of Felice, but that if they're using Felice it's because the tank is versatile and preferable to others.

yes we considered that, and thats why I do split them into groups. They will weigh in but the final decision still rests with us. The whole goal is just to make sure we dont have a newly formed team with all top 1-2 players come in and get paired incorrectly. The pros know the pros. Will the two who advanced from the Frontline play the Breakthrough against the two who were eliminated on Day 2? In this case, it would be a double-elimination system for everyone, which seems to be the fairest, since the teams eliminated on day 2 were only eliminated once, in other words, only those who were eliminated twice would not play on day 3. It doesn't make sense that those who advanced on day 1 can't play for 3 days, while those who were eliminated on day 1 can play all 3 days 🙂

For proving grounds breakthrough, upper bracket finals are scheduled for 20:51, is that correct or is that an error? 50 mins for a Bo5 match seems kind of overkill. Also im pretty sure the maps are the same for both stages.

About the maps i don't know but for the schedule i don't think there is any error, if you look at previous tournaments it was always like that during bo5

A Bo5 can last 43 minutes, if all 5 games need to be played and last the full 7 minutes + 4x 2 minutes in between matches

Add to that 8 minutes of breathing room and you get 51 minutes

What we already know about the New Way to Play tournament (as written in #tourneys-discussion):

• Registration starts on July 24

• the roster is fixed from the moment of registration until the end of the entire tournament

• registration is clan based with no limit of teams per clan

• 2 players from foreign region are allowed

• The qualification only spans one tournament with 2 or 3 stages (=2-3 days)

• only top 8 clans will receive a ticket to the final tournament

• full regulations will be published in mid July

• cash prizepool: 10.000$

• unique rewards only include the summer cyber camouflage (top 8 teams)

• There will be a new temporary avatar only for the champion of the tournament

• the changes to tier 10 tanks will happen 2 weeks before the beginning of the tournament

The Cybercamo is for most top8 player not a reward to play for. It has been given out to top12 and 16 so 90% of the top8 players already have it. In my opinion the Cybercamo should be given to top12 and top8 should receive a different reward to give an ‚appropriate‘ reward for all the ranks. Rule violation checks should be done before the final tournaments and in case if there is a rule violation, that team who violated rules shouldn’t be able to play at finals and so should be changed with the other team who have the most cups after them but I read there is no cup system in this season so can you make something similar to this ?

Okay, then can you please make more punishments for those who violate rules? For example you take 25% / 75% of credits or gold or free exp etc when someone violate rules and give them 14 days of ban. But instead of that if you will not give them the camos and avatars if they violate rules, it will be more deterrent for someone to violate rules. For now, people are like: “I will violate this rule and what? I will get 14 days of ban, a little less credits and gold but still will get the important things, I don’t care about these and I will still do the violation”.

Actually, I shouldn't tell you what to do. What I have to say to you is that; The penalties given to those who violate the rules are very few and those who will violate the rules do not care about these penalties.

This is very much the case. Unfortunately, in most cases of rule violations, players are willing to sacrifice monetary rewards because they still obtain the aesthetic rewards.

At least in my limited experience, many players determine whether to participate in a season or not based on the available aesthetic rewards, with no interest whatsoever in the credits, gold, free xp, or anything else; as those can all be obtained via different methods.

Here is an example of the mindset of many players: “I won’t play this season because I already have the summer camo and there are no new aesthetic rewards.”

To summarize, the camos and other aesthetic rewards (avatars, profile backgrounds) are the distinguishing factors that set competitive players apart from casual players, so unfortunately, many players are more than happy to sacrifice any quantity of credits, gold, free xp, etc., so long as they achieve what are the “main prizes” in their eyes— the camos, avatars, and profile backgrounds.

I agree with @sudden canyon that revoking the aesthetic rewards (or all rewards) would be a much better motivator to have players avoid breaking the rules.

Agree to that too. Some players don't care about credit since it is easy to have them. It is way more difficult to have aesthetic rewards. So if you take off it for players who cheat for them, no one will cheat for it since they can lose it.

In case of serious violations (account sharing, exceeding the number of legionnaires), the team loses the prize money right now. You can list what, in your opinion, additional violations should also lead to the total loss of rewards.

2. Deliberately misleading the Organizers by provoking, publishing false information, and/or sabotaging the image and position of other Players, Teams, and Clans, as well as Tournament Organizers, is prohibited. This violation may result in the ban of the player's account.

4. The use of any modification of the game client for the purpose of obtaining an in-game advantage is prohibited.

5. Any commercial fraud related to the sale of accounts to third parties, as well as the sale of places in the Hall of Fame or rewards that the Team, Clan, and Players receive in tournaments, is prohibited.

Also, if a team is selling places or sharing accounts, that team probably won’t reach top4. And as I know only top4 is receiving monetary rewards, so the punishment should be for unique rewards, not for the monetary rewards. Punishments should be for top8 I mean. Otherwise it won’t change something.

it may be a small tournament, but players have the same expectations as if it was to be a season, the teams have been training for a long time.
There is no point in giving these rewards for the top 8, there should be an avarar related to this type of tournament and a new camo.
What's the point in giving the cyber summer camo that we all already have?
players are as attracted to cash prizes as cosmetic ones, and decisions like that can only decrease the overall interest (rather than increase it, which I suppose is your goal).
I Think you still have time to take action, because with this structure is really nothing good, worse than the blaster that at least had good rewards (the true challenger camo)

I’d assume 75%+ of players own the old pro avatar in top2-4. Like honestly if you look at the names in top2-4 it’s like the same guys every year +/- 10 guys max.

Besides I’m probably not alone here but I think the professional avatar is ugly. Good players that have finished the game are aiming for cash first. They don’t care so much about unique styles although it is a nice bonus.
Imho unique styles don’t need to be flashy like the pro avatar is, massive « PRO » full gold/bling on. You just want something unique that is kind of subtle.

I can count on fingers of one hand the number of « pro » avatar there are in top4 matches. Something that is really craved tho is the clan avatars. That would be a neat reward for top places and as it’s probably too much to ask, yeah some certificates for the money blaster camo would be appreciated…while we wait for a new professional camo (animated?)

About tournament rules.

I think they are fine rn, and they only issues I see is place selling for top8s which cannot be adresses unless you decided to only give the tickets to the team in a clan which qualified or scored most cups/points and track that the accounts are login in from the same ip adresses in qualifications and in top8-4. With short tournaments it’s increasingly easy for a team to make top8 and sell the spots to other players.

Another question or remark I’d like to add: how much money do top players make wg? Ik @worldly elm wouldn’t answer this but I think the premium tank give out from previous seasons was a good idea and should be extended.

To build on the idea of the season coin you could also make « pro coin » currency to buy stuff in the « e-sports » section of the store. So that players winch already own camos could invest in other rewards(T10 prems?)

The only incentive against it is that it could cut into the profit made from top players buying crates to get the latest must need premium.

The worst thing with Money blaster regulations in Winter was that only 1 team per group proceed from day2 to day3. This is highly influenced by the seeding and is not fixed. BO5 in finals of day 2 would be more fair and less luck-based.

the introduction of the type into comp has really killed the season for me imo, at least the is7 you can deal with but when you have a tank that has more armor and goes 40 on all terrain that you can’t circle or reliably pen with heat (you’re not penning that lower plate while it’s moving) it really burns you out quickly, you can say it’s skill issue or whatever but it’s very draining dealing with 4+ types a match, the new tier 10 balancing subtly buffed the type because all the tanks that can support it also received some buffs i.e yoh, bc, etc, so meta for now hasn’t changed much at all except a few teams running some 140s and the occasional 113, the only tank i’ve really seen go up in usage is the bc and t57 (got buffed for some reason)
