Wargaming needs to add a tool where you can build your own maps and allow you to host matches for other clans and other players to make it more fun. Nova Logic did it with Delta Force Landwarrior series. They give you the base map and you decide weather, day or night map, where buildings, trees, rocks etc go. That would be nice and that way you wouldn’t have to play same maps over and over.
That would subtract people from the random queue, therefore less people would grind and less people would pay to speed up the grinds

It was removed quite a while ago alongside lost temple for reworks. Wargaming cited issues preventing the maps being in high tier battles and also the fact that Mirage could not have supremacy on it.

It makes you too reliant on your teammates to hold the church if they even go there. If the enemies gain control of it you’re not going to have a good time

Hey am I, as a Bat-Chat main the only one finding many maps un enjoyable as they’re flooded with obstacles (huge rocks, un-climbable hills, infrastructure, trains etc.) even at the “hill” side of the map? It’s very hard to do any heavy/TD-bullying maneuvers while in WoT PC it’s basically it’s whole gameplay. I’d say it’s not a coincidence if in blitzstars the best win ratios are dominated with heavies (and T-22 which happens to be very good at town too)
I’m saying Bat-Chat as the problems is increased (huge easy-to-aim hull) but a huge proportion of tier X meds/lights wr are among the worst of all tier X

Huh, it's almost like Mines is exactly as I had said, you only do as good as the enemy is stupid on that map, because no smart player is going to let you take the rocks on mines and gain any benefit from it. If no one goes city then you get flanked and lose all pressure from the rocks, which further reinforces city being a valuable flank. If anyone goes river, you now lose all pressure, which even further reinforces river being a valuable flank.
It's almost like mines is a god awful map where no position has any true value if the enemy team has any kind of brain activity beyond "I move forward and hold fire"

You can’t really think out of the box in such maps given you have very limited options in them
If you have south spawn on naval frontier, you can use that little bump as a hull down option in meds like the wz121, that’s powerful.

Anyone here HATES ghost factory? As a td main,the north spawn is just useless while the South spawn has a somewhat usable td bush(ultimately useless as the rails block almost all the tanks driving across Unless ur in a tall TD)
Just go to the factory if you don‘t feel like going to the medium ditch in the corner
td mains aren't exactly compatible with the current meta of both tanks and maps
Ghost factory is a map which doesn't offer much to turretless/armorless tds

havent watched yet but the actual effective camoflage given by foliage is not the exact outline of the tree itself, but a rectangle that contains the whole tree

Ikr...... Canal, Castilla and molendjik are about the only maps good for td mains where it's possible to carry the game reliably. All others are team dependant maps
Also dead rail, mines to an extent, but yea maps these days tend to be geared towards brawling which tds can’t do

Yeah, I would also blame the tree. Not sure if they ever updated it but bushes used to be massive boxes because that makes calculation easy
To add, the reason you didn’t spot him is because both of your spotting checkpoints are covered. Your gun base checkpoint is blocked by the tree, and the cupola checkpoint is blocked by the building

notice how I was riding the replay, I checked under each angle and nothing, the position to improve, in this case one side is much worse than the second one, since you cannot see anyone from 150m when you have visible space in front of you
Well, this is just one more reason why I don’t bother wasting my time on that side of the map. Just go to the church side.
Half the time I’m caught in a pincer when the entire team goes church side. Hard to leave.

never go windmill, everyone should focus on the church, tds included
you need to hardpush whoever is at the church and then flank, you'll have tank and position advantage doing so

All things considered, one very specific line of sight for one particular tank where a tree/building is blocking your spotting checkpoints for that specific angle is a pretty small issue of map spawns being unbalanced compared to maps like Vineyards, Middleburg, Port Bay, which are far more unbalanced.
Heck even on PC wot, there are plenty of unbalanced maps
as Yukon came out and after the first hour I wrote here that you can see trees on high settings, and not everyone on low settings, and a few days later update: 3
now it will be the same\

Anyone else having sh*t tons of issues with the new Castilla? I’ve got average specs, but I average roughly ten fps only on that map. My settings were turned down, and still, was laggy asf. Wg, could you possibly consider a map filter? For people like me, it would be useful to filter out maps that lag the game so freakin hard. I know that adding a filter could cause more issues, but it might just be worth a shot. Just food for thought.

Even i hav a low end pc dat runs the game at max graphic setting at 60fps but dips to 55>
But as with when they at introduced pbr tanks, as new patches come, it will be better optimized(castilla)
My fps drops to something of 8fps or so. I’ve got an intel i5 8th gen, with 8 gigs of ram… and it still drives it to the ground. The pbr tanks didn’t have much of an effect on my fps(which is normally 60-50) so idk. Thanks for the reply lol

8gb RAM isn't really a lot.
Even 16gb isn't enough for 2022 in some games.
And Castilla and future PBR maps will require a dedicated GPU (So not your Intel HD graphics or AMD Radeon Vega graphics)

16 is plenty to run anything, 8 is adequate but will limit on ram heavy games
I mean 8gb is not adequate for a lot of games in 2022. (Hell, a couple of chrome tabs would fill up 8gb)
The biggest regret that I have with my notebook laptop is that I got one with 8gb RAM. Chrome, photoshop etc fill up that 8gb really fast.
16 is enough for most games, but a lot of games already recommend 16gb.
I remember my old 16gb kit (Before I jumped to 32gb) would hit 80% usage on a bunch of games (I.e. ARK Survival), and my friend also says he was using up the majority of his 16gb kit, so he hopped onto 32gb.

Running a Ryzen 5 3600, 32gb RAM (TridentZ Neo 3600MHz CL18), with an RTX 3060 Ti (MSI Gaming X LHR, if you're curious)
My multi-purpose PC: General use, gaming, workstation.
Although when rendering with Blender, I used up all 8gb VRAM on the GPU, and Blender had to resort to using my system RAM (So theres an upside to having 32gb)
Open world games will always need more ram and ark is pretty ram heavy, even things like cyberpunk only recommend 12. 16 will run anything at good settings, 8 will be good for most games at adequate settings so unless you specifically want to play open world games or at the upper limits of graphics settings it'll be fine
I had to play CoD Black Ops 4 on minimum settings because of the 8GB RAM bottleneck
I mean like I said, my notebook with 8gb RAM gets that 8gb filled up pretty quickly with just chrome and photoshop (So not even gaming, but I guess both of those are RAM intensive).
And on my desktop, iirc my idle RAM usage is already over 8gb.
photoshop is incredibly ram intensive
makes chrome seem mild
but yes the extra ram does help run games
i highly doubt my old laptop (an older i5 with igpu and 8gb ram) would be able to handle castilla with stable fps
Tbh I'm surprised my notebook can run both Photoshop and Illustrator at the same time.
Thats the only regret I have with my notebook, the 8gb RAM simply isn't enough.

That sounds kinda weird the min is 8 but the recommended is only 12 so being forced to run it at min settings sounds kinda dodgy lol

i can run every map, PBR on, at a consistent 60fps, no drops at all
but castilla murders it and cuts it down to anywhere between 20-35fps
But every other map isn't PBR, Castilla is the only PBR map.

WG shouldn‘t have adjusted the graphics on Castilla so that you still get the same experience as before on the graphic setting sou were on - instead of simply forcing a way heavier map into a system for much lighter maps, meaning that if you want to enjoy the other maps on high graphic settings you have to make do with Castilla ruining your experience

I mean tbh a game killing a computer is pretty damn near impossible these days, as long as the components are well made. As long as your computer is within a reasonable temperature range (I mean after a certain temperature, your i5 will shut the PC down to save itself), then its pretty much impossible for a game to make your PC catch fire (Especially true for desktops).
Also that doesnt even look like PBR Falls Creek. It doesnt even look any different from the original Falls Creek

My Macbook runs just fine, I had to lower a couple settings like flora one down from max but I still get 60 FPS all the time on Castilla
wt isn't even that heavy, i personally have a gtx1660s which isn't exactly the latest model but i still menage to run it on almost all high (not max tho) graphics with a stable 120+ fps

Lol running hot and struggling to load fast don't mean that the computer isn't made exceptionally good. It just means the hardware or cooling is inadequate.

In the case of the 2nd video, the issue was that the GPU had a poorly designed VRM cooling, causing it to explode under high load.
As for loading fast: loading speeds depend on your system storage.
If WoT Blitz is installed on a Hard Disk Drive, then it will load slowly.
If WoTB is on something like an NVMe SSD (Or any SSD, for the matter), then it'll load a lot faster.

I was just scrolling through #coming-soon and I saw all these maps that were there and they look really good, imo. Anybody the oriental themed one, I think it was supposed to come one update but it never did. Any older players know what happened to the desert and winter map above?

Opinion on castilla: The map is bad. the massive TD camping spots encourage passive play. the HT hill is almost impossible to win until your team has won the castle otherwise you just get shot in the side. the fact that to win one side you almost have to win the other just compounds the loss. you lose castle therefore you lose hill and vice versa.
you just have to completely ignore the heavy side and push the mediums with all your team (someone on B could also be useful), then you'll have destroyed their mobile tanks so they'll be very easy to flank
which isn't a well designed map. if one flank has to be ignored in order to win then that basically cuts the size of the map in half.
Most maps have a side that's completely unusable because WG has an obsession with making mixed type maps with a "heavy" side and a "med side", which always leads to the "heavy" side being totally useless
not all of them, but yes. molendjik or however you spell is is a great map because the entire map is "usable". and winning one flank doesnt instantly win the game because you can't shoot people from 500m away across the map except for a couple spots. losing one flank should help you win, but not be an automatic win
molendijk works only on the mediums side and if you win there it is an autowin, it only takes more time because the map is larger (so there's more time for a teammmate to do a stupid move)
I haven't played enough of molendijk to be sure, but honestly, I don't think either side really matters that much. It's all about whoever can control both spawns. If you control both spawns, you'll probably win the game

It's supposed to be a new old map. Particularly a redesign of the map to accommodate supremacy caps and tier 10 gameplay. But it just went out to get a redesign and never said when he will be back

done and done again its just the game atm, snapping aiming along with ghost shells (12ping and 0% loss), people magically shooting throught buildings/terrain (like solid right through im not near any edges) game feels more broken then ever

There should be more vertical maps, with routes to climb up and down. Adding a slope to prevent fall damage would be noob-friendly.

they were removed because the majority of the map was usless and one of the two spawns had a clear positioning advantage over the other (north spawn in Lost Temple, south in Mirage)

well yeah but wg probably shifted to other priorities, we got 2 new maps, a reworked map, a couple of dozens of hd tanks and the new automatic update feature
And the reworked castilla map is still one sided for whichever team has more L/M tanks and whoever takes the castle
one-sided doesn't necessarily mean one spawn has always an advantage
