Dark Winter isn't bad for whatever CHC/CHD thing was discussed earlier. It's not terrible for solo play or things below Heroic content. The talent requires you 1) get the kill 2) make sure that kill was with a crit. Combine that with the fact that it's a vector, meaning you'll need to reload 8 million times to kill something. On Heroic+ in a group, there is no way you can consistently keep that up.

I would add that the majority of people who use that gun are obnoxious Hunter's Fury players who give themselves more credit than they deserve, but maybe that's just me.

depends on how far into it you are, as at the start its best to fill out the easy ones with countdown farming all the non-named weapons and gear.
if you have a high enough shd level (atleast 3k-ish i would say, preferably higher) then running wony over and over again with alts,
next is the capitol cheese method at the boss, but that requires a group setup as one person is stuck in a oxi feeding the others,
and then just farming, countdowns is decent for it as you also get allot to donate

You can also donate your receiver components and protective fabric

Just don’t make the mistake of donating all… I just did that thinking it would donate only from the highlighted slot (receiver components) and lost all my steel

If you don’t use your secondary weapon often slap a dz item or exotic there it will gain xp as you and your teammates kill

Don’t donate any of your other resources such as ceramics, electronics, steel etc cause you’re gonna need them for optimizing and recalibration

I am almost reaching lvl 15 - in reality, I am unable effectively increase it with a junk - that's already done.

What is ahead of me to improve , are basically some exotics, named items and skills (a lot of skills).

Now I see two ways: using those things (goes slowly) and resources (slowly too).

What would be most effective way to finalize expertise from 15 to 20?

So far I was playing countdown (due to amount of loot), but I have feeling that at this point, gathering xp is more efficient, so I probably should switch to something else - like legendary missions maybe?

there are several avenues to do the rest of the expertise, on the grind and material end there are ways to cheese the system a little bit,
on the grind end you can do the final part of capitol over and over again to farm faster than any place else for kill xp,
and on the material end you can run alts for the watch points over and over again.
also to clarify for you, the only thing that matters is the kill xp, and that doesnt get altered by difficulty or directives, and the only part that matters if you or a group member gets teh kill is, that if you get the kill your equipped weapon gets double xp for that kill.

the other is to grind it out, and try to maximise howmany pieces you are still leveling while staying somewhat effective, and make a note of waht you dont have at all to level to spend the material there

Although I think optimization mats are a trap, as majority you can get easily with time.

Tactical assesments - from bounties, and also missions.
Weapon alloy/Gear weave - from deconstruction of junk (plenty of it in countdown)
Field Recon - reset map, get all the control points and that's it. you can also craft from resources.
SHD Calibration - welcome to countdown 🙂

So unless you need a lot of these in short time, Named box may be better, as it also drops DZ items randomly (which is crucial for no-DZ guy like me :)).

@pearl pine It depends mostly on the content you are playing, if pvp then I wouldn’t even try to play it, but for pve as long as your skills can do damage or you can survive a long time then it’s good. It’s still quite low though so you may want to check out ways to bump it up to at the very least 100k

I usually run full reds or hybrids so I’m not experienced with damage on blue and yellow builds, but if your striker drone can dish out some damage, then it can make up for your smg damage. You may also want to try if you haven’t already getting 15% weapon damage on your smg through optimization or recalibration

Conflict caches and manhunt targets (the four 'supporting' targets) can also drop dz exclusives, and dz vendors and the countdown vendor also sell them from time to time

i know that you need to leave atleast 1 mob so you wont continue to floor 11 after blowing yourself up.

Nah there is one particular floor 10 orientation which u need to get to farm it continuously. When u get it kill everything and after it says floor 10 is done dont open the door to next floor simply eliminate yourself. You should respawn in elevator at floor 10 again

Keep doing 10 runs after that collect loot and then eliminate yourself.

I have the nemesis and chatterbox but not the blueprint. I just heard that in this specific scenario (weapons there but not the prints), they parts for the exotics won't drop when I do the project. workaround would be something with creating a new character. does anyone know more about this problem?

cause this week, tidal basin and capitol are invaded and I was going for the nemesis parts and also the chatterbox ones in lz. none of the chatterbox have dropped for me at the possible locations so far. i do have the creative magazine tho for the chatterbox. maybe i got this before obtaining the chatterbox itself from somewhere and that could be the reason why the remaining parts won't drop. any help appreciated.

yeah, put any copies of the exotics you have into the inventory of a spare character (you don't have to level one up,run the intro to DC or NY and get to the BOO so you can access the stash), then you'll be able to farm the exotic parts for the projects

There’s only 2 scopes you can toggle first person on/off with and that’s the C79 and the acog scopes… the digital scope from sharpshooter has a toggle zoom and so does the tac 50 sniper rifle

So you can definitely use the C79 Scope to snipe I personally use it on all my guns if I know I’m going to scope in to get a better shot

Greetings all. I need some help regarding an old bug regarding the Vivian Conley final mission of the WONY DLC:

• There's a objective that reads "Disable the "fire tower"-crane", and I can't see any prompts / objectives surrounding the yellow crane to progress. After some digging, I've found that there're boxes around that tower when the objective appears, but mine doesn't for some reason.
• I've read that this is an old issue that was resolved at some point, but not too sure why it's re-appearing now.
• Is there anything I can do regarding this issue? Since I've retried this quest multiple times but still stuck at this point.

every high end gun of a type you deconstruct, will give 1 alloy for that type,
the hunters in countdown also drop some in 2 batches of 4 of random weaves and alloys,
and there is a crafting BP that you can get that lets you convert other resources into them

if you do everything and extract you usually are in the 50-60-ish coinds range per run, failing at the main , dieing or failing to extract will net you around 25-30 for that run

And most of the coins really come from hunter dog tags. 3 coins per tag and on a good run you'll get 7-8 of them, so 42-48 just for hunter tags and extracting

then theres the global events, which are gameplay changing. Activate them (and read them) when they are up, and adapt tactics to the event. hollywood for existence makes enemies resistant to bullets until they get exploded/whatever else, then they take damage normally. Or golden bullet, which makes any gun into a good gun by grabbing the golden bullet (+ROF, +DMG, +reload on kill, stuff like that), but enemies can also grab the golden bullet- do enough of the challenges and get Global event stars, redeem them at a merchant outside the BOO for stuff.

leveling also gives you event stars

then theres the leagues, usually having a few time attack missions (do this mission in this time, higher time = lower star reward) and other misc challenges

End game after level 40 is just grinding for better gear. When you have a build that you enjoy using, consider expertising them. Lots of things to do, but a good start might be to figure out weapon and gear pieces that you wanna focus on. There's a pinned spreadsheet in #td2-build-advice that has suggested meta builds for different or general playstyles.

You could also focus on completing your projects. They give a good chunk of XP and other rewards too.

Near perfect is fine, but it becomes expensive to optimise (or max out) attributes. That's where Optimization comes in, but it's kinda separate from the topic at hand which is Recalibration

Do weapons and gear roll with higher stats if you are let’s say SHD level 500 vs being SHD 200? SHD level has no effect on drops/rolls.

world difficulty can reward higher rolls, more directives can gives more chances at target loot....but being a higher/lower shd level wont change how items drop/roll.

u can increase items to their natural max rolls via recalibrating and optimizing, expertise is an add on that can boost it's base stat (dmg for wpns, armor for gear, etc.).

on level 40 gear, every stat has a maximum possible value regardless of shd level or anything else, and you can even get max-rolled drops on lower difficulties (although it's considerably less likely)

Both m4 and c7 are excellent AR's, both equally worth using.
c7 is a little tougher to get a good roll, since it's Talent Locked, so you need to get DTOOC already on it.

the thing to understand is that there are different drop sources,
you have the normal drop,
you have the targeted loot drop, that if triggered will drop a TL item alongside the normal drop,
and you have the specific drop, this is for instance big horn from legendary boss, sawyers or merciless from hyena nameds, sweet dreams from outcast nameds etc...

the other thing with specific loot drop is that in almost all cases its only the final named of a mission/bounty/summit section/etc

and its a alongside normal drop as is targeted loot, so its adds a extra item to the drop pile

Depends on the scope: Longer range scopes (8x or higher) zoom in automatically, shorter range ones don't. Sadly there doesn't seem to be a way of setting a default - it would be nice if it at least saved your last zoom level while you keep a weapon equipped

I think that's normal (although I've heard varying reports on this and haven't really tried the technique myself). Certainly you can't farm mission bosses by downing yourself to reset from boss checkpoint.

they're not repetitive? There's generally not much reason to do them more than once (no point in farming them as the loot is poor) but as missions they're definitely more imaginative and colourful than most of the main missions in the game

Best weapon is Scorpio, you can look for builds in the other channel there are no best builds.

I don't think you can set open world difficulty at the level 30 endgame, world tier 5 is the hardest it gets. You can change it once you complete the dlc story and reach the level 40 endgame. That said, if you want to raise the difficulty of control points, you can do that by completing the small activities connected to them by a line on the map screen.

Either way you'll have to earn specialisation points. The only time you get the kickstart to full points is when you boost a character to Warlords.

And that kickstart is only for the 3 initial ones, not firewall technician or gunner.

Shouldnt take you too long to get the specs to a usable point, however.

It's up to you if you want to farm one location, or vary it up a bit with Countdown.

Personally? Countdown is more fun. And Hunters, so guaranteed White Deaths.
