Most builds require specific gear pieces, but depending on your playstyle you can always find ideas of builds to go for when reaching 40. If you feel confident do missions on hard so you get a bit of an XP gain increase.

I tend to keep the Hive and switch between Restorer and Stinger because I keep the BTSU Datagloves on 24/7.

The instant refresh is so handy for my Drone when I'm in a pinch.

I'm currently loving the 13.3 % Skill Haste & 16 % PFE.

Apart from a complete Murakami/Wyvern wear set as well.. I forget which one is better.

You should try a 3 piece Empress build

10% Skill efficiency

3 empress/1 wyvern (10% skill damage)/1 fenris (10% assault rifle damage), memento. Capacitor and Harmony as weapons. Its a really good skill build that'll take you up through challenging. The gear will give you 5 yellow cores, 2 red (memento has one of each core). The fenris can optionally be swapped for 1 piece Ceska for 10% CHC.

So far, the only issues i've had with this game is that it makes my PS4 quick menu a bit slower if i have to go to options like adjusting the volume of my headset, etc. And takes a few milliseconds longer than other games to close the application.

See if your ps4 heats up too much after an hour or so of playing, see how many other applications you might have open at the time, see if you have any electrical issues like fluctuating current and the like. See if there's a lot of dust that happened to enter from the sides and etc. I keep the white cover on every time it's not in use. And i regularly check for dust on all sides to keep to a minimum. Had it since 2018, no problems so far. My controller on the other hand has started to drift a little bit for the first time (could have been the time i dropped the thing only thrice but just on unlucky angles to cause damage to the analog sticks)

However this past week I got around to beating the base game and am currently in world tier 2. While completing some of the specialization missions, I unlocked some of the premium awards but I’m not aware of me owning the current pass nor how to access it. Is this something tied with the War Lords of NY?

Can't say I'm certain but 30-40 levels are the expansion, so you have to beat the OG game, i.e world tier 5 and all missions done in order to progress to the expansion story

The current season is a rerun of Season 2. You do need to be level 40 to do it though. Owning the expansion gets you the free reward track, which has the gear sets and blueprints for those, weapons and that season exotic. If you want the premium pass, that does cost extra and gives out more cosmetic items and caches. That one isn’t really required though, unless you want to.

The current release date for the TU is unknown, however the way PTS's work is that the TU comes afterwards.

For where to farm stuff, its always targeted loot unless its a DZ exclusive or one of the things that are acquired a different way, like the crafted exotics or the raid ones.

Buff it up to heroic, run no regen, fog of war and special ammo - any mission you want works I don’t really recommend farming the same mission over and over as you’ll just bored - but the fastest to clear is Lincoln memorial - after that I’d say it’s dcd headquarters, bank headquarters and federal emergency bunker

I did those directives on heroic and was running cps last night and leveled up each control point but it’s slow as fuck - not the leveling but the value of the stars you get from leveling up requires too much time investment

It's different for everyone. For example, DX12 works wonders for me, but is buggy for you. Just try it out and see if you like it or not.

if you plan to PvP, I would say keep reduced latency on. If not, turn it off. You might get an FPS boost.
Dx12 is just a different rendering application from Dx11. You're definitely going to get a performance increase over Dx11 with it.
The problem is that depending on people's rigs, it could be a large performance boost or a buggy mess that just makes you crash constantly.

I would honestly rather the dev's take a whole year to optimize and improve game performance, instead of releasing new content.
It's like building a luxury home over a mudslide-prone area.

Input latency is basically how quickly the GPU is "allowed" to generate and send the next frame to your monitor.
Having reduced latency essentially tells the GPU "Alright, bring em fast". Disabling it is kind of the same as having double or triple buffering enabled. Which basically tells the GPU "slow down on frame generation".
If you cap your FPS to x number, It'll still generate that many frames, but it'll do so slower. This is why having latency reduced as much as possible is something pro competitive FPS games recommend.
Now this game is hardly considered a competitive shooter. Like I said, you're welcome to keep it enabled in PvP if you like. But if not, that's fine too. It's barely noticeable, but not a large impact.

You'll get better FPS performance though, since you're limiting how quickly the GPU will generate the next set of frames.

At least I think so anyway. This is a very basic explanation of what I'm almost sure is going on with input latency.

so SHD levels are the final bit of levelling for now - every time you level up you get a point to allocate to offensive/defensive/utility/handling skills up to a max of 1000 levels. Anything past that (and also every 5 levels) you get a point in scavenging, which gives you a small amount of resources of your choice

Quick note about heroic - likely you’ll struggle on your own so you’ll want the reviver hive. Personally to get used to the playstyle for heroic I’d suggest matchmaking and calling for backup. Otherwise play challenging and try to clear without taking damage before you move to heroic it can be unforgiving because if you die at any point before the final boss you restart the whole mission. For the summit if you die you get sent back 3 floors which is back to your latest checkpoint. The checkpoint is every 3rd floor

Skill build. 3 pieces of empress international, chest piece being the named Caesar's Guard. Hana-U named Force Multiplier bag. Wyvern mask, gloves or kneepads, depending on what your 3rd piece of Empress is. And the exotic waveform holster.
If you're recalibrating your pieces, focus on skill damage and skill haste. Your skills will be the assault turret and striker drone and they'll be your bestest friends on the battlefield.

For weapons, the exotic capacitor ar, named Harmony rifle and the 93R. I suggest putting In Sync on the pistol. The capacitor can be easily obtained from doing 5 challenges on the summit. I suggest normal difficulty for easy completion. I hope this helps in some way and if you have any questions about any of this, feel free to ask. 👍

There are far better use cases for Ridgeways. PvP builds and HF off the top of my head

That and Toilet Paper are the two sets I can think of at the moment that actually encourage the player to tag enemies

when you join a dz, pause for a bit and watch the feed, it'll give you an idea of how active rogues are in the area - if it looks like there are a lot around, go to a different dz

also maybe check their locations, some like to pvp in one place (usually next to a respawn point) so you can safely run around the rest of the map as long as you avoid that specific area

a relatively quick way to gain DZ levels without pvping is to extract as many items as possible: eg, pick up every drop and don't dismantle anything

That is certainly what I do at every checkpoint before heading out the door into the DZ. I don't have a PvP build at all, but if I want to farm at landmarks, PvE builds are fine, right?

yeah, npcs in the DZ are pretty weak (noticeably weaker than solo heroic) so a heroic-capable pve build will have an easy time

if you can get in a group that wants to farm, it gets even easier as there's no group scaling on npcs

plus you're less likely to be jumped by rogues

Less, if you do the Invaded missions. Those grant 5 points per clear. Never actually tested it, but you could probably join in on someone who is doing their Invaded missions and potentially get another 5 points per mission from those. Not sure, though. You'd have to check that yourself.

Not exactly sure what you're talking about. You can max all specializations... it's kind of the point why it shows you X/165 on each specialization card, so you know how much you still have to go before that spec is maxed. When you boost, you get 3 complimentary points to spend to get you started, but the rest you still have to grind.

thats what I'm saying - ultimate gives each specialization all of their points / base version / gold or whatever only gives the 3 specializations to the right max points when you boost your character.

Since div2 is always online, and from 2019, it's likely just dragging your internet down.
Could also be effecting your CPU/RAM, div2 is quite heavy in both, more-so the former.

hard difficulty. i cleared all control points, realised it didnt track, went to normal and also didnt track. does that mean it has to be on heroic or legendary?
