Probably a dumb question about targeted loot. I'm trying to farm the Waveform, so running the DCD Headquarters at the highest difficulty I can (Heroic - 3 Directives). I noticed random mobs can drop Exotics, so is it worth still running the whole thing (I assumed the % chance of a drop from a named mob is higher than randos), or running the first group of mobs, resetting and just farming the open?

Farming countdown is recommended over farming missions, but if you want to farm missions then yeah finish the entire thing

Drop rates for NPCs are very low

Hey guys sorry if this is not the place to ask, but i am having an issue where my skills go on cooldown but it wont tick down, instead i have to pick up those things enemies drop when the scavenged skills directive is on, but its not on. I tried restarting the game, changing the directives around, changing the global difficulty, but skills go on a cooldown without ticking down. It won't even show how many scavenged skills i need next to the skills icons, it just shows the normal cooldown not ticking down.

its a Hyena drop and tends to drop 'more' in Jefferson Trade but your mileage may vary.

Countdown with mask focus will yield more loot for mats.

Also remember: exotics can be reconfigured on the crafting bench so when you get it, you have it.

Now that you are 40 you should focus on making a good build and try to farm up blueprints and max out your recalibration library. Builds can be found in the pinned spreadsheet in #td2-build-advice and these are very good meta focused builds.

Yeah, Fenris's "10% AR damage" looks nice on paper, but due to how it scales: it's really not that great.

the tl;dr is that it scales off base weapon damage, before red cores are applied.

If you are using an AR and have around 3-4 blues fen and ceska will be about the same damage but the exact amount of blues to red ratio depends on the build. On a full blue fen will do more damage.

Even without talking about a damage increase, Ceska is usually worth it anyway, especially on a Gearset build, because you have a limited number of Attributes, so you can spend more on CHD and less on CHC.

Both are valid and good options but i just suggested it because if you use the same piece on a few builds ceska is generally a better piece, plus not restricted to ARs. Though they are my favourites.

I personally don't advice pulling anything but max rolls cause you could deconstruct and gain mats with lower rolled items vs just one item to max an attribute.

At some point you will say it's close enough and it depends on if you are getting help.

Loot is so plentiful it's not such a big deal.

Usually you want to recalibrate the talent on weapons, although at least having the stat in library it does allow you to optimise up to it

Lyfe is correct. Favorite items are unable to be deconstructed without first un-favoriting them, you also dont get any notification if you un-favorite an item . You get an "are you sure" warning when deconstructing if you dont have room for all the mats that result from the decon

no way to really speed it up. you can reset your floors and run lower floors on low difficulty. i would just do the weekly summit project and just let it tick up. pretty easy to burn out on summit

It's honestly not a good idea to grind out Commendations like that, just let them happen as you do other stuff.

Div2 is 100% a Marathon game, you are meant to take years to finish stuff.

Nope! The Chest inside each CP resets along with the Daily Timer, you can see the Timer ingame at the Projects menu (it shares one.
It's also roughly in about 4-ish hours.

Best way is to play solo and on nomal difficulty. If a teammate opens it it won't count for you.

When expertise was first released and bugged (you could earn double proficiency on stuff), there was a hard cap of expertise 30, even though it was theoretically possible to get higher.

I still get confused by the whole multiplicative vs additive thing. From what I understand, amps are multiplicative, and talents that say "increases" are additive. I was taught to try to fit in as many amps as I can, then fit an additive in somewhere to increase those amps. Is this completely wrong?

You're roughly correct. There's a bunch of damage 'buckets' such as weapon damage, total weapon damage, damage to armour, crit damage, headshot damage etc.
Most are only additive within their own bucket, and multiplicative with other buckets.
Amplified damage is always multiplicative, but it's also only available on a few talents.

The spreadsheet pinned in #td2-build-advice has a good collection of build guides that are designed for maximum overall damage.

Yes, countdown is gonna be te fastest gear farm and is ideal for new agents needing loot. Matchmake challenging with a dps setup like striker or heartbreaker (red main cores)

Projects (map>projects) will help you gain mats/xp

Priority objectives (esc> season menu> priority objectives ) give good season xp for leveling and exotics farming.
(Esc> season> journey) also good for season xp

Coyote mask, memento bag are a couple exotics that get a lot of use in many builds.

Striker gonna be your easiest first build, usefull anywhere.

Ceska/Grupo highend pieces applicable to a lot of dps setups( crit chance/damage rolls).

Vigilance, obliterate, glass cannon talents are the goto dps talents

Outside of normal blueprint drops, you can farm a number of named blueprints from descent (list pinned in #td2-descent )

Also, while farming mark items you want to keep as favorite. Mark stuff you dont need as junk.
Once full or when convenient check your junk against your library for rolls or talents you can save.
After check expertise menu and donate all junk.
The stuff left over deconstruct for materials.
This will help you knock out a could long term tasks without really thinking about it.
Library and expertise menu have tool tips for actions available and both are found in (inventory> tinkering)( or i, m)

mostly, the mindset of "multiplicative good additive bad" will undervalue a talent like vigilance for example just because it's additive to twd when in fact it's just a talent with consistent uptime.

when looking at buffs, you want to look at the end result and see their consistency, not whether they're "multiplicative or additive"

also, the only surefire way to know if a talent gives an amp or not is to test, luckily most of us here have already done so and can tell you the answer if you ask

There's a lot going on here for "Best" DPS. When there's builds and strats to do 300 mill in one shot. It depends more on playstyle and the player's skill.
Also, using the range DPS counter to figure out what you're DPS isn't accurate to use.
In the #td2-build-advice Pinned Messages there's something that will accurately help figure out your Bust and Sustain DPS

Yes, Incursion's chest has a 10% chance of dropping Ouroboros aka Oreo and 1% chance from Lovebirds. And Raids: Iron Horse has the Regulus project and Ravenous. Dark Hours has Eagle Bearer aka Eagle Burger .

Don't think there's any official lore. There is the crashed satellite on floor 100 which maybe was supposed to mean something at some point, but I don't think it's ever mentioned in-game. From what I gather, summit was semi-quickly thrown together because people kept asking for a mode like Underground in Div1.

not how it works. lefty is normal drop, but you dont get a crafting blueprint just for obtaining it. its the same with exo... you can get a reconfig blueprint when you get an exo, buit you also wont get one to craft from scratch.
lefty blueprint is available in descent afaik. check the pin in #td2-descent for named item blueprints that are available there. if its a non named seasonal blueprint (like the belstone holster you posted), you wont get that to drop unless they rerun the season

if you use the fire nade from survivalist you can swap to weapon any time the fire is burning to proc. otherwise, the weapon needs to be in hand as the nade blows up

you only have to have in hand when it explodes, this matters for fire nade which has the most synergy. it deals damage for a while and during any moment that happens you can have it in hand to proc sledge

Make sure no fast travel when you get to statues

If its borked give it a full day/night cycle in game... if still borked try after daily reset
