Its random basically although you will find crappy gear more consistently the lower the difficulty on a mission. Better gear more consistently the higher the difficulty. You just gotta kinda keep running them. Not necessarily the same mission over and over but it might take a minute to find that one specific item with decent rolls or God rolled

Plus recalibrating them to make them perfect for whatever your build is

LMG is pretty low on DMG so dont expect to find one that does better than an AR. Right now I would say look for Hunter Fury Gear set. Try and get all reds in the cores to run heroic solo and run the reviver hive and a shield of your choice. That's what I did for a while to grind up. It's not the most optimal but it worked for me.For the gear mods I would slap on an armor on kill or protection from elites.

If you want to find AR gear, and this is what I run a lot now, get some good providence defence gear. I'm afk rn so I cant remember everything about it sorry. Anyway, still all red cores, a famas with fast hands. Fox prayer knee pads and the holster that gives +15% AR dmg

Same skills too. Shield and reviver hive. I just use the reviver hive when I'm playing solo tho

complete sets for that stat you want. I dont usually equip all 3 or 6 parts of gear or brand sets. I usually mix and match for what I want in that build. So like 4 hunters fury for the talents and like two different brands of holster and gloves for extra SMG or crit damage

I had a response from Lucipus about this a while ago when I asked for 'invisible' dye options on gear: apparently it's not currently possible due to the way the modelling system works: clothing hidden under gear pieces is actually invisible or something. Given you can see it on the apparel selection screen I'm not entirely sure why it has to be that way, but it's not an easy fix.
