Also started a new toon on Div2 on the PS5. Ended up playing all the way to the BT invasion, and cleared a few areas before realizing the time. Wish the PC side was this stable or else I could really get back into the game. At least the console port doesnt crash everyone 10 minutes.

The story of Eivor, I liked. The "idea" behind the main story, was great to me... everything else, from the game mechanics to the absolute mind slog of grinding levels, I disliked completely.

The series, I can easily admit, has lost what Assassin's Creed was.

But as an RPG, set in a fantasy/alt history.. was great.

Really hope Mirage pulls things back in to what made the series great.

My thoughts exactly. XDefiant (The idea of it) with multiple Tom Clancy titles rolled into a superstar-type game show arena shooter with objectives... it would be have been perfect. But with Siege they roped us in with a trailer of counter terrorism, and then completely changed it near release saying another lie of "tactics" and "objective based combat". Which again is BS if anyone played Siege for more than a minute, its a gameshow with heroes... no ifs ands or buts.

The none political nature is true. But honestly I really don’t see how they would make it political. The mil sim aspect was there in the early seasons but it did die off later on. I also don’t think that straying away from the mostly believable stuff is being completely separate from the rainbow six nature. You don’t have to stick exactly to what the source does, the source material has been replicated in many games already. Moving away to Try more futuristic stuff (which Tom Clancy himself has been a fan of) isn’t being a disgrace to the rainbow six name

Siege didn’t do it that well. Now they’ve basically just shoved stupid shit in that game. But in the first year or so of siege it was definitely not a disgrace to the name

even when I was enjoying Siege I could sorta see it encroaching over time as the little character bios got a bit more and more outlandish over time
like when Lesion fell into a vat of oil in a shipbreaking yard as a child which improved his immunity to toxins, not the most unbelivable thing I've ever heard but at the time I was thinking "what is this Joker comic book villain stuff?"
and then sooner or later it spilled over into the designs of the characters outright

i was doing the commendation (take 20 pics, 20 rescues, etc).. and the conversations the Hyena's have with each other.. its HILARIOUS!
i also enjoy just watchin them in photo mode.. (dont be seen!!).. there is a lot of detail in the game, most people meta-speed run past, that has some interesting context/content..

First thing I do in any game, take my time, and enjoy the world that is offered. Hell even now Im doing a new clean run on the PS5 and even though I have played through the campaign countless times on PC, im back to taking my time slowly gathering all the intel and collectables, paintings, etc. reliving the crazy side stuff that is offered. Only complaint, I wish they had background noises (gun fire, yelling etc) that fit most the recordings we find. They seem so out of place without it.

Indeed. I did it a lot more in Div1, especially since I played it almost completely solo. Treated it like a single player game in a way. Div 2 I enjoy, with its (to me anyway) better combat mechanics, but I love to just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere sometimes.

Off topic, but got around to trying Caliber finally. And it reminds me a lot of ye' ol' Socom from PS2 for sure. Only thing I hate is how many operators there are and the absolute mind numbingly amount of variants and skills each one brings to the table. I like choices in most games but holy shit.

I literally just open world farm with no exact goal daily. Just looking for junk for expertise and mats. Usually do hostage rescue and the rewarding bounties while hitting uplock boxes. I get enough stuff this way.

yeah for something that's supposed to be relaxing, it's really frustratingly time-consuming and awkward, and when you're trying to catch a particularly difficult fish there's no sense of progress, no 'fish stamina' bar you're reducing or anything.

I hate horror stuff too but not because it’s scary but rather the exact opposite. It’s always jumpscares and predictable stuff. Now yeah if horror movies were real jumpscares would be scary but to me would be like knowing there’s someone inside your house trying to kill you

Kinda like survival in div1. It gives off a scary atmosphere which actually makes me scared but if it had a hunter jumpscare you then it wouldn’t be scary to me

Horror games and movies just don’t give off that scary vibe that survival had

Plus there’s this thing called plot armor ensuring the main character always lives while side characters are free to die

So like there’s no reason to be scared if I know that the main character will be safe at the end of the movie

For me its the older i get the less i wanna feel uncomfortable just for the thrill of it. I like monster horror stuff or zombie because it has the fantasy aspects. But the realer the stuff gets the more i think i can do more pleasent things with my time.

For me peak horror is like medical dedective or real murder story - hate this shit. Real life is dark af.

My only issue I've had is initially it clamped on my head pretty hard, so I just put it on top of my series x (slightly wider then my head) while not in use and it stretched out to not clamp anymore

The game is a locked character story game with specific gameplay features (the generic cute pet sidekick) yet is being marketed as a big open world with ground to space travel, the gameplay shown was not very good and even though its not refined obviously it doesn’t look very in depth at all, not to mention its single player

There's an area between "this looks amazing" and "i dislike the character and entire game design".

I dislike everything they’ve shown because nothing is visually appealing or interesting so far, everything being shown is just very basic

I trust MSV to do the world design well, and so far she looks exactly like every Smuggler character we've seen in Star Wars so far, even with the animations and outfit design.
If Chewbacca was quadrepedal and 2ft long, it's be a gender-swapped Han Solo.

If you want another rather good Smuggler storyline, I can highly recommend the base campaign for Smuggler in the MMO SWTOR.

I personally think the game looks promising from what we've seen, but am waiting for future gameplay footage to decide on a purchase.

it's pretty boring to have another human be the main character in a star wars product, especially in the criminal underworld we could be playing as a rodian, weequay etc.

and the gameplay they showed off looked kinda manipulative i think. looks like just a snippet from a main mission to make you think the whole game will be as open ended and dynamic as that, odds on this is probably just something you experience an hour into the game and the mechanics are never that fleshed out

It's being directly marketed as an open-world star wars game, so it seems unlikely that the rest will be mostly linear.
