The biggest difference between Countdown and Summit is that even on Heroic, Coutdown loot isn't very impressive for rolls. And getting maxed out mods and the like for endgame players is still awful.

Legendary Summit is where people go to squeeze that last 1% out of things like that.

You can just matchmake Countdown through the ingame map. I don't recommend solo Countdown, it's boring and objectives can take longer when you're the only one that has to deal with multiple things at once.

just got attritioned down because the only enemies that spawned were engineers spamming turrets 10 miles away and got suppressed from the lightest sneeze so i just couldnt actually kill anyone

there wasnt any real cover to push up to them with either

i think you can shoot the turret box to disable them

that lures the engineer to stand up to fix the turret, and then you can shoot them

Well, if you ever feel like just walking up to enemies to be done with it, let me know. I have the perfect build for when you just want to turn off your brain and shoot gun.

For that one, if you can't reach the bridge, stay in the center. Every spawn is well reachable and you can take out the engineers before they get stationary setting up their turrets

Open up the map and hit R. The timer that says Loot allocation updates in: 01h 19m. That's basically the daily reset about to drop.

Once that reset hits, everything except the weekly assignments reset. Weekly assignments reset on Tuesdays same time.

I'm pretty sure the whole build-up was just basically "do this open world task, now do this other open world task, now do this other other open world task, good now kill this high value target with the smallest amount of character building in existence from random radio calls", rinse and repeat until the climax mission

Soloing heroic countdown is a RNG cesspit and requires very good builds, challenging is much easier in comparison and I'm pretty sure a simple striker build can achieve soloing hard/normal

TLDR: Don't bother unless you are bored and want to achieve it for fun

I used to grind Heroic Countdown daily, but I stopped years ago because it was such an RNG fest of the servers. People were usually competent, the problem was having all 8 people get to the end in one piece without disconnecting or crashing. It sucked. It's why I think perma death and no autfill is dumb. Especially for what's just a farming sim.

Depends what you need but exotic caches tend to be the best option in the long term, once you can expertise things to high levels you'll need thousands of exotic components to fully upgrade all your useful weapons and skills

good question honestly, think earlier this was asked but there was no definitive yes/no for it. plus with how the countdown changed from 1 singular difficulty to the now normal/hard/challenging/heroic guess the loot changed too apparently
we just generally tell people to run challenging as it's less work for the same loot quality at least most players feel when they compare the 2 difficulties

Depends on the materials - resource convoys drop the food/water/components materials that you use to donate to control points and the weekly SHD project, they can be easily farmed from open world locations with the same symbol.
Crafting resources come from deconstructing, open world containers (lots around solar farm in east mall), scavenging points etc.

There's not much point really, the manhunt itself give a few high end items and that's it (the DZ caches come from killing players and getting DZ XP, not the manhunt itself)

that reasoning makes sense as they are pretty bad at pvp when they were singled out, me and one other random took care of them a few times which i found to be funny

Anyone else having issues with Global modifiers? Mine says they can't be activated under these conditions
