semi glitching way. go out to the west side of the white house until you pull your weapon in your hands and use concussion grenades with glass cannon and nade yourself endlessly until you get them to level 3

I really want to buy D2 the Ultimate edition on steam sick of Ubi connect

unfortunately for you. steam still uses Ubi Connect

it's basically, you start it up via steam it'll do it's loading then you'll see the Ubisoft Connect app pop up and then the game will load up.
it's almost like steam has to go through a check point in ubiconnect to see if your steam account is bound to your ubisoft connect account and that you own the game through ubisoft connect kind of deal

but i find it a good idea to own both the ubiconnect and steam game so that if you own hand helds that uses steam over ubiconnect you can still play div 2 while away from your main playing computer

fortunately. if you own the base game and all the dlcs on ubi all you need is base game on steam to get all them transferred over at least

To rank up, just do the main and side missions as they become available. If you want to get through them super quickly, you could use the call for backup feature and you'll likely find a high level player willing to speed you through the missions.

countdown lets you buy caches and priority objectives can give exotic as rewards

a lot comesdown to what specific exotic you want

last thing you want is to be farming something that only dorps from a specific spot

You'll either get nothing or everything else but what you want. Stick with retaliation for crafting them or countdown for quantity
