You sohuld use headshot damage.

"Weapon damage" is a simple additive bonus, increasing only your weapon's base damage before any other damage bonuses being applied.
"Headshot damage" is a multiplicative bonus, counting in all the other additive damage bonuses you have (core, weapon attribute, gear stat etc.).

Weapon damage is additive with other weapon damage bonuses, yes. But headshot damage is additive with other headshot damage and crit. With bighorn giving a huge hsd bonus at full stacks, that'll be the more diminished value.

This is how the damage equations work - each damage type is added together within its category, then multiplied by the other categories.

In this case the hsd is higher value than the WD so even though hsd will be more diminished, it will still add more damage overall. Only on headshots though.

Personally I build bighorn for crit since it already comes with a huge hsd bonus, the crit will help against enemies that can't be headshot.

That's how it generally works yes, if you stick with the group after the endorsement you can earn bonus xp but I'm pretty sure that's shd xp rather than shepherd xp.

Yeah I have great Tipping Scales/Negotiators and other red loadouts but aiming and shooting at everything is kind of long when you're used to seekers and drone just clearing the whole map. I use Perfectly Skilled so the seekers have super high uptime 'cause their cooldown is constantly reset.

I suppose I could just mix it up for my sanity. I'm close enough to 100 now to let up a little.

I've yet to make a Memento loadout so that could be something.

It's RNG, that means random. The only difference between Rank Up and Prestige Rank Up is that Prestige has a moderately higher chance for rare stuff.
If you're getting this frustrated over an Event, it's a good time to take a break.Next Season is pretty soon, maybe try out another game for a while. It's what I've been doing myself.

I think "last six months" might be stretching it a bit if you count Easter 🤓. We used to get one big apparel event per season with around 5/6 full outfits you could grab in one go (all free) as well as cross-over and seasonal stuff. While the Halloween event was a nice suprise, I don't think we're at parity yet.

The less said about that 'influencer' event the better I think ha ha.
