Drones will target a decoy.

There is another way...which requires not being so gung ho and being sneaky to be effective. Locate all your targets and prioritise before you engage.

Make sure any active skills are killed before entering a new engagement.

Locate 'any enemies you want to kill first and map out your plan of attack

good positioning is the primary way to prevent them from droning you. if you notice, they only use drones if they have clear LOS on you. use cover and position yourself so that you can shoot them and they can't target or shoot you. this can be done with practice

think about you using a drone and turret. you can't make them target an enemy if you can't see them. this is turned on its head when it comes to white tusk droners and grenadiers

Just....don't alert the enemies until you're certain you can kill them before they kill you.

Target them in the order you want to kill them.

Drone and Grenade spam goes first for me.

I save Chungas for last because they're slow and easy to navigate around....and they're basically a sitting duck once the rest are dead.

i've soloed all 5 legendaries and both masters with all red builds. it is 90% strategy and positioning

Rogues can be a bit of a pain to kill.

Just have to remember to focus them down, don't be tempted to change targets. Try to keep distance to the other while you focus one down.

From my personal experience....almost always one sniper spawns....kill that one first. They'll delete you fast.

So you can put something in the Shared Stash on Character A, then log off, and log on to character B and take it out.

I think that really gives merit to the developers though. Despite the games decline in population, the developers kept a very steady and engaging stream of updates and content. And it's not even a subscription game like WoW. I recently helped a new player to lvl 40 and helped get themselves situated. The entire time that I was providing guidance and tips I was thinking to myself "WoW, they really put a lot of effort into the endgame".

It's a shame actually that the game had such a shaky launch with bugs and stuff which was exacerbated by it being streamed by big twitch personalities. I think that really hurt the growth of a core player base.

Honestly, I don't think that was the reason. The game had many issue, the endgame we have now isn't the endgame we had back then. The games direction was different, a bigger focus on PvE meanwhile PvP and the atmospheric setting, which made Division 1 to what it is, was gone in Div 2. The shift to even more cover based mechanics, locking you into cover while restoring your armor, when you could clearly tell, nobody in Division 1 liked that.
Learned from their mistakes, even tho they did the same mistakes in Div2 again etc. There are so many reasons why Division 2 didn't hit like Division 1, but saying it was because of big Twitch personalities seems odd.

The one year of constant crashes on PC didn't help the player base at all.

I said exacerbated, not a core cause. Everything you said is valid.
I was speaking from my experience, I tried to get friends to play and all they knew about the game was from watching Shroud's (and others) twitch stream as he was constantly encountering bugs and other problems. And then, If I finally did get a friend interested, they ended up asking to a refund because of how often they experienced crashes.

However, I stuck around. I love playing the division. I have my pet peeves as anyone does. Like certain exploits or past bugs. But overall. always happy to play.

Tbh, the whole "long tutorial" is a hallmark of the genre.

There aren't many looter shooters or mmos that don't have a couple of hundred hours minimum thats considered "tutorial territory" to experienced players

Coming from Division 1 and having played the closed beta of Division 2, it was clear that I wouldn't buy it on release because of the bugs, clunky animations, and how the game generally felt.
The bugs and the general game experience at launch was up to the devs, not to some big paid streamer ad. Even if he didn't stream the game, the experience would have been the same. It didn't help tho.

EB being nerfed was seen as the death of the game once, Countdown getting multiple difficulties was the game dying, even the Lau exploit farm being patched had a bunch of youtubers go "oh game ded".

"i was banned without warning" over the Lau farm was my favourite, because they were given an ingame warning, a temporary suspention, then kept on doing it.

Ninja bike backpack is generally a piece for hybrid builds, beyond what is possible before with just 6 yellow pieces. It is viable to get more brand bonuses in, but you sacrifice more because of the wasted backpack talent (and blocking other exotic pieces). Particular builds it enables is, for example, an all-3 hybrid (armor, crit, skill tier) and complicated or more stacked skill builds (since skill backpack talents are weak, compared to DPS/crit). I am actually skeptical about the DZ (yes, it allows you to go with one less Yaahl piece for pulse resistance), but DPS and a proper backpack talent is sort of important there.

I have no insight into Xbox, so could not say anything regarding PS vs. Xbox. PS is perhaps the worst to match-make platform, though, Sony canned their PS Communities during the PS4 era, and then their designated replacement, that “Discord integration” arrived many years too late, PS5 only, and is a total joke (just voice rooms and no access to any text/message channels).

With DTTOOC it depends. Particularly many named items have the non-recalibratable “perfect” talent, and in those cases it makes less sense to keep a lowly rolled (on the two fixed attributes) item, just so you have a “came-with-it” or unrecalibrated DTTOOC, and then spending tons of resources to optimize it. That one non-DTTOOC is basically the only thing you can ever recalibrate to something else.

funny enough I actually finally finished 100 floors of Summit today after months since i started playing. I did it from 70 to 100 on Heroic with 7 directives for ascent challenges. The hunters fight lasted about 20 seconds. If you can, try to make a Striker/Haz Pro build. This will make it much easier for you as they can't really disrupt you.

so at level 13, you can just experiment honestly, see what skills you like.. mostly what people like is the drone striker to help them out.. they recently changed the first default skill to be drone striker for that reason.. most of the stuff you are going through is "exploration" phase.. you are slowly understanding main missions, how the sets work, trying out skills etc etc..

I can tell you what I did, I realized that Hive Reviver and Shield were the best option for me.. as I liked to shoot.. and reviver gives you a pick up if you go down so it's helpful in that way..

But I would encourage you to try them really.. see their descriptions as you get enough SHD cache points and just try them.. this is the best way for you to get a gameplay style you like.

Crusader Shield allows you to use any gun but LMGs and Marksman Rifles through it.. so you get a moving cover as well. But if you like to use skills, I ran my very first character with Seeker Mines and Defender Drone before I found what I felt comfortable with..
