If it's not the stuff that drops from specific mission bosses, then you probably get it from dismantling other HW gear

it's just about playing. Have fun. Don't worry to much about SHD. As you go higher in difficulty it will exponentially rise. with 3XP and 5XP events that happen during the season and other events, as well as your sesonal journey and rank will give you TONS of xp. You also have priority objectives that not only give you tons of XP but they can also reward exotic items. Then do weekly and daily projects, they give tons of rewards and XP. Then just roam around the world and do control points, and other events, before you know it you will be a SHD 1000.

I started just over a month ago, and I'm SHD 2182. Granted, I only play this game when i have time with work, but it goes really fast when you are having fun.

The SHD level is a post level 40 system, there you can change world difficulties and have access to more game content.

oh don't worry about it at all until level 40. SHD level is a different thing. Once you hit 40 that's where the game really begins. As @unique bramble says, it's post leveling game where it all really starts. You will get a watch and that will have SHD level 1. You will see when you get there. Don't rush it. Just do missions and follow the campaign. Basically learn and experience the game. Try different skills, try different guns, don't overworry about leveling up your gear or anything. Just swap it and see the benefits of it as you get it. It's all discarded anyways once you get to level 40.

kind of.. you are not really losing anything.. it's just that level 40 is the cap for "level". However, your power and experience then grows based on your SHD watch you will get once you hit level 40 and that watch starts at 1. Think of it as a new checkpoint in the journey of the game. You've graduated as an agent, and now you are building your SHD career. Watch gives you more power too, armor, weapon damage etc etc.. but all gear will still drop at level 40 from then on. This ensures you don't hunt the gear level anymore but it's more about builds, attributes on the gear and bonus sets.

I can give you my approach to that one if that makes it easier for you.. don't fight them on the ground level.. do sneaky sneaky up the rope on the left side around the bus and go up where machine gun is.. you will have 3 guys there.. kill them and just mop up the npcs coming up via elevator or stairs.. much easier to control.. once you clear them, you are upstairs anyways and you can mow down the rest coming across the park.

Why would you avoid DZ until 1k? There are DZ brackets that prevent you from matchmaking with higher shd players. Past 1k you will jump in straight with sweats and cheaters.

Menu > top right > enjoy!

make sure you also keep an eye on Project Rewards, a lot of those award random amounts of Exotics/ExoComponents.

They are useful in quite different situations. For Memento to work, it’s better for you to be solo, because other players in a team may diminish your drop. Coyote’s Mask is rather pointless solo, it is for the group. Usually you can push your own crit values higher by having something else than the Coyote’s Mask.

Bruh I have collected so many pieces that I know I’ll need later in some random build to throw together for insert past and future builds here that are just collecting dust. Before the stash increase I had stash filled, 100 pieces in inventory for my cycle of builds, so that I can have room to fill and deconstruct, with my 2nd character taking all the overflow or new pieces to save lol. Stash increase helped a lot and I did make a few builds for my second character just to put some pieces somewhere but yeah inventory management has always been my one complaint with this game throughout the years

The big thing is hunter dog tags though. The reason you're getting more is because you picked up all 4 hunter dog tags. The dog tags drop based on distance. So if your team takes out a hunter on the other side of the map the other team won't get the dog tag.

Which is why it's good to check your map in the beginning and see if you can link up with the other team before fighting hunters.

If you spawn at A and the other team spawns at B, always just run to B. Even if your group goes to C.

That way you'll get 3 hunter dog tags from the east side of the map.

If your team is smart they'll follow you and then you'll get 4 hunter dog tags.

Or your team (down 1 person) will struggle at C which will give you and B group time to catch up get the 4th dog tag.

I just looked at a few past runs and yea... looks like it varies between runs.

I just ran a speed test, and running the game, + discord + whatever my kids have going has me at 56mbps and a 25ms latency

I’m in an RV park out in the middle of a desert in New Mexico due to work running 10 mbps download on my 2 bar 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot when I play and it’s about 30s max on the ps5 and it runs fine. Back home where that same hotspot on 5G UW gets around 100-200 download and it’s a few seconds behind PC load times, instantly starting to load, but stopping at 90% here and there. I play on both so I can compare.

If you’re on ps4, add 2 minutes into the mix minimum no matter what speed the internet is.

I'm on a PS4. IDGAF about Sony's social credit patent because if they try to implement it, I'll file a class action suit for Breach of Covenant of Good Faith and Retroactive Application of New Terms To Old Contracts. It is illegal to apply new contractual terms (EULA, ToS) to old contracts. Sony isn't going to force the game companies to create new EULAs for old games. The things their AI will look for are grossly over-stringent (no/low chat-to-play ratio, no friends list, "rage-quitting," i.e., quitting an online mission because you don't want to play with noobs, a bunch of other garbage). Plus, since older games have UIs where filterning who you play with is almost non-existent, which will only add weight to any lawsuit. Players will say, "I wouldn't have bought the x game had I known Sony was going to force this in the future." Boom. Violation of Implied Covenant of Good Fatih.

I can literally watch it hang at 9% for at least 30 seconds, and then go to 50% and climb one percentage point at a time to 87%, hang again, then creep up towards 95% before it flashes. That's on the other side of the login, which itself takes at least another 2-3 minutes. My PS4 says the network speed is 200 Mbps. More than enough to blow through load screens, and yet, I'm not.

I don't think you can get any materials from grinding white, green, or blue gear. Purple or higher gives mats. Sell the lower stuff.

The difference between ps4 and ps5 is literally that 3 minutes. When I upgraded from the Pro to the Ps5 it went from the two minutes down to a few second. It’s the hardware of the old gen bud. Fr fr THATS the issue.

I think it was just a glitch with an animation causing the loot to drop outside of bounds. I'd report it. It helps out future players.
