You have to start somewhere..its like the raids, newcomers are thrown into the carry spots to begin with so they can familiarise themselves at the basic levels. Even when I first did legendary when it came out, skill builds were the key. Maybe district you could cheese it with strikers but the zoo is so open that cover or tank plays wud work best

Try searching conflict builds. Head in there before going to the DZ. At current you'll be matchmade into dark zone servers with players under SHD 100 so you have time to learn and understand the expertise system and build functionality (hazard protection, best in slot skills, balance between armour and weapon damage etc)

Matchmaking is useless at your level since most of the player base is at 40 already. Try calling for back up instead, you can do it by going to the social menu and pressing the button there

Current limit to expertise is 27, to reach this level you have to have all items in the game proficient.

Think of it like a clock. Proficiency would be the minute hand, expertise would be the hour hand.

I played the 2nd one first, later checked out the first one. I like the way builds are on the 2nd one as opposed to the first. Atmosphere though, division 1 has the best. Dark zone was solid on there too, I never personally got to experience it on Division 1. Division 2 dark zone, I have a love-hate relationship with it. As a mostly solo player, it's hard to PvP. Most have their buddies they play with. I don't have a crew myself that plays consistently, so most of the time I'm just Rogue policing. Occasionally when I do get my PvP buddies on, we do manhunts. Me being on PC as well, we have a serious cheating problem. PvP also needs serious rebalancing as well. I say give it a shot at some point. But it's not as engaging as D1 DZ seemed to be

You shouldn't focus too much on getting Exotics, they're not like in other games, where they're the end-game of guns.
Oftentimes, a good high-end (gold) gun with the right Talent (and of course dtooc) will outperform it, it's all down to the individual build.

Very few things are a guaranteed drop

Legendary difficulty doesn't guarantee an Exotic drop.
TL isn't altered by difficulty, the only reason Challenging or above was suggested is that on those difficulties, enemies can only drop gold/gearset/exotic loot.

Technically enemies have a slightly higher drop rate for Exotics on their own if you raise it up more, but Directives matter more.

Very late reply but, yes; when a teammate uses certain rifles (classic m1a confirmed, but not 1886) it sounds like I'm the one firing it. even if he is on the opposite side of the area in a mission. He hears the same when I use them.

If you mean the specialist weapon. Go into your inventory and click on any weapon or gear, then in the next window, at the bottom, you will see an "Options" button, click on this button and you will get a menu with options for among other masks and Specialist weapon toggle 😉 👍

Best way ever was the legacy Season 1 caches they had before last season wrapped up. They were only 5 global event stars and each gave SC mats and a high chance of getting a gear piece

My experience with them has always and consistently been that they’re dumb af and shouldn’t be on the battlefield. They don’t protect the flanks, will happily lead enemies behind you and they die easy as flies
