What "reconfiguring" does is randomise the % of the first 2 stats and randomises the 3rd stat. It can easily make an Exotic worse.

so it's best to try and farm a new copy out via TL (targeted loot) first.

actually, it does: -10% WD -10% CHC and -20% CHD means lack of a lot of damage, try to complete a run on Heroic with 8 low SHD players that can't deal any damage to see what happens, if you complete the first encounter in time you can consider yourself lucky, assuming you passed the first wave of hunters; don't get me wrong, it can be done in 6 players, even in 5 (some did it in 4), I've done it many times (I've had a few runs last night for instance), but not with low SHD players
