Yeah, I think the first 100-hours was on Normal (unfortunately). I don't know why but I didn't think of changing it until recently. As soon as I could I went World Tier 5 in Div 1 but for some reason I was slow in scaling up in Div 2.

On Challenging now and I plan to move to Heroic soon.

Pretty easily tbh. Dps generally, a fair amount of rooms have emp.

Rogues swap a skill to shock traps and make them come to you... scorpio can also help cc. if in too big n area they just surround you. Be very wary of openings/doors as they like to use oxidizers

They always spawn 1 more than your team size

We're all running scorpio and 3 red builds, with one guy doing a armor +shield tank aggro/medic support role.

the tl;dr for it is 2 main reasons, the former leads into the latter.

1. Countdown scales a bit oddly, since there's 8 people involved, the "tier" of the loot scales up, so it's closer to Heroic- quality loot on Challenging.
2. More people matchmake on Challenging, which also makes it faster.

Heroic Countdown is 100% fine too, but you're better off sticking with a dedicated team, or at least 4 people in a squad. Since the loot also scales up, it's more like Heroic +.

Sure you can play on higher difficulties if you prefer them, there's no one stopping you.

The aggro mechanics generally dont work with shields. NPCs are going to target highest damage output instead of a shield.
You can generally draw the rogues to a choke point at the beginning of a room if someone runs in to trigger and then all are set before the door into room. Traps at the choke point.
You shields medic guy should run crowd control eclipse with survivalist . Traps and foam. Itll be a lot more beneficial . Locking down incoming rogues and giving team an extra buff against all status affected targets. Since everyone will be close, they will also heal the team when they use a medkit on themselves

Heroic countdown is significantly more difficult at extraction and requires more coordination that comes with experience. Also leaders tend to kick players with bad builds. In challenging it's a lot easier to carry a new player. And as said the loot quality isn't much different, just the additional CD credits

Yeah very annoying rooms.
EMP fairly easy to deal with , skills just wont work. The connely modified emp rooms are worse for sure since you gotta get to cover inside the deactivation ring.
Invincible Warhounds , there really isnt anything for that. It's good to have some healing ability , regen (memento works good for this), and generally some ability to take a beating. If it's possible I usually run pretty deep in the warhound rooms only shooting at the servers to try and minimize aggro.

see one small issue, I'm doing summit literally for memento. I'm probably never gonna touch it for a while after, unless I decide I want to get the striker set (but I don't want to torture myself more). The thing about the warhounds is that they like to pin me down near the room entrance so I can't get into a position to shoot the servers or do anything in general. Goddammit ubisoft just give me my memento so I can hunter larp. I beg.

on a side note if anyone has a spare memento I'd really appreciate it. This stupid game gave me 2 tardigrades and a chameleon when I put my targeted loot as backpacks.

for my opinion can open the raid normal to matchmaking too. Is more easy to find a good team for who want test it. I already have a team 🙂

You can also farm memento in countdown. Target loot there as well,.You have possibility of drops but also every 2 runs you have enough currency to buy an exo cache.

Yes less torturous. Drop rate on paper is lower but in reality I can get an exotic to drop every few rounds . Sometimes double drops. The big draw is the guaranteed credits for completing and ability to buy caches. It's also 8man teams, and rounds are roughly 15mins. you get a ton of named item drops as well.
I farm exo components in cd pretty easily. challenging is very doable for random teams regardless of builds anyone brings, and have heroic quality drops.

tip of the spear needed kills and that sucked to the point itwas changed to hit

now we have a new dev team making tip of the spear needing kills and history repeat itself

most good gear sets give you a decent bonus and then a better one if you do something right, by default hunter's gives you extra gun damage and a enemy debuff if you are close enough, then a useful cc bonus when you kill enemies as well another damage bonus.
Negotiator gives you the tag bonus with crits and makes so your kills increase your overall crit damage

older OD only gave you reload speed bonus, and required you get kills with a limited time frame of status effect (so it would scale against you in harder content) and in when playing in groups, so by default you had no real base power increase and only when the talent was active but then it suffered from playing with groups and kill stealing.
got reworked for better group mechanics since now you only require tagging enemies and the bonus goes to the whole team no matter who gets the kill, which go back to making your job of tagging easier and keep things going

new tip of the spear does give you spec ammo but the talent that is meant ot make them reliable in getting kills is locked behind getting kills

there are 2 different bonuses, 15% spec weapon damage and 25% reload speed for 5s for getting a kill

and only if you have the chestpiece you can get 50% TWD for 15s when you reach zero signature weapon ammo

but the chestpiece also doubles your ammo recovery to 2 drops every 60s

so you have a downtime of 45s for the TWD

thats why i think it should be 1 ammo drop every 30s, if the person just wants the TWD from the chestpiece, they can have an uptime of 15s and downtime of 15s

they could just have kept the set as is, add the 15% and 25% reload spec weapon on kill on top of the regular 4 piece and add the every third kill gives you back ammo to the backpack as is

you keep the core set as is, you keep chestpiece buffing the TWD side of things, and the backpack buffing the spec weapon side of things

That is an incredibly weird bug, it may be related to a network issue or something similar.
Try restarting your console and repairing/checking the install if that is an option on there.

that one is a bit weird for matchmaking, you have to call for backup or matchmake before starting the mission. As far as completing it is concerned, bring a somewhat tanky build with decent regen (memento is good) and focus first on the objectives in each area, only killing enemies that get in your way until you reach the 'kill remaining enemies' stage

should just matchmake into challenging countdown... always a bunch of players and really fast matches. and pretty much 3-4 agents can be carried . youll get tons of gear, target loot is selectable, and credits for exotics caches...

Future Initiave gear drops like anything else. If you want to get more drops of it, use the "Show targeted loot" option in the map to see if there's an area or mission in Washington or NYC where it's the targeted loot and thus has a higher chance of dropping. (Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be anywhere right now, but targeted loot changes every day, so you can check again in about two and a half hours.) Or you can set it as the targeted loot in The Summit.
