Is the base weapon damage upgradeable in any way? And if it is random what is the range. Because I've seen guns with over 20k base damage more. Any info would be helpful

In the builds channel #td2-build-advice in the pinned messages there is a spreadsheet with a builds section, there are tons of builds you can see. Everyone has a build but good ones synergize and make the most of the available gear/talents/guns/skills.

Correct brands would be things that are useful for the type of build you are making. A ton of brands have really random 2 pc and 3 pc bonuses that wont align with the idea behind your build. Also some things have really odd wording and maybe mislead you on what it actually does.

advantage is they massively hamper enemy sight range, which actually gives you an advantage (you can shoot them and they won't shoot back). Downside is they tend to reduce sight range on your skills too

yeah, it's up to devs to get the balance right. i run builds i find fun in groups, but in solo there's almost no reason for me to not use ND or striker or HF cuz i just want to do things quick

proficiency/expertise is just a cherry on top and isn't that impactful over correct build synergy. it's raised by 1 per season, initially 20 and now it's 23

Donate the stuff you’re not using for proficiency

Save your materials tho, you can donate the receiver components and protective fabric towards exotics and named items you don’t plan on using… start with dz locked stuff and stuff you can’t get anymore like enforcer shotgun
