The game rewards investing time into the game, both in builds/gear, and learning various pvp mechanics. If your coming into the game fresh 4 years into it your going to be at a disadvantage.

There's also no player rank based matchmaking like many other games, so you'll be going up against pve players who have no interest in pvp, as well as dedicated pvp players who know the game inside and out.

May I suggest that u avoid a steep "learning curve" - use the same process that developed your awareness of "regen" to develop an incremental awareness of other aspects of the game. Just keep doing main missions and visit the settlements to unlock other missions. Personally I'd ignore most side missions until later because a side mission gives 1/3 of a levels worth of xp so less xp gained at lower levels but it doesn't really matter.

Yeah the leveling is pretty straight forward until you hit 30 then you've gotta do world tiers then go do the DLC, or you can lvl 30 boost and go do the dlc right away if you want. I'd say play the game for the story the first time thru tho. Just know end game is all about farming gear and perfecting builds.

If using a skill build, specifically striker drone and turret with capacitor, you may want to consider using, as a secondary weapon, the Harmony rifle (has perfect in sync) or if u don't have that rifle (yet), any similar alternative and add in sync to it. Consider using Empress, Hanu and Wyvern for mask, gloves etc. And, you could also trial glass cannon as a chest talent.

Not sure if it is still so, but Harmony was sold at DZ vendors many moons ago.
Dark Zone currency can be found in boxes in the DZs. Takes a while but one can accumulate enough to purchase items from the DZ vendor.
For those not keen to enter the Zones because of the agents who turn rogue and their lack of a moral compass when doing so, is that one can get the currency through stealth and, hopefully avoid the rogues. Also, once u have the currency it is yours - no extraction required and, if a rogue "kills" u, u do not lose it.

I recently put over 100-hours into Division 1 and it’s not “dead.” I was expecting it to be dead but what I found was a healthy level of players still free-roaming the DZ; still playing lots of Underground; still queuing for Survival; and still doing group roams in the DZ.

If you like loot and buildmaking go for division, if you just want to shoot stuff to clear a zone and finish a checklist of activities just go for breakpoint

After 105 hours in Div 1 I thought to myself, “There’s no way Div 2 can beat this game.” Div 1 had the killer story and atmosphere. And I was right, I still wasn’t digging Div 2 after the first 20-hours or so. It just had a different feel to it. However I stuck with it and now I absolutely love Div 2 (I have over 120+ hours and am still going strong).

I actually went back to Div 1 just 2-days ago to try it out again and it was hard to do because Div 2’s polish and superior game design clearly set it apart. Both games are great though.

And for what it's worth, even for full price I think the base game + DLC is worth the money. What I mean by that is you get a very chonky game with all of the DLC added. It's an incredible amount of really fun things to do in-game when the DLC is added.

Yes I have, it's more of a fad than anything else. You can use it to snap your aim to targets and also to highlight a piece of cover to cover-to-cover to, but it's often easier to just use the mouse.

I do like the fact that if you look to one side of the screen the camera pans slightly to that side so you can see a bit more, and you can make your hud transparent until you look at it which is cool

No loss, you're good. The whole wony run thing you may see being talked about involves making a new agent, run through wony, then deleting after shd scavenging points are cashed in. Mats are shared but cash isnt so only put into cash what you will fully spend.

You can use materials to level individual items. Primarily printer filament. 300 shd/item that way.

Another way is for named items and guns. You convert some shd to cash and buy up named items or weapons. This method is 30shd/ named item.
Weapons are less shd/proficient item since they are cheaper.

You need 20 named or weapon donations to proficient any of them.

Printer filament is good for items you cant obtain or dont have. Also skills you dont use

Agents can be infinitely created, drained, and deleted on a loop.

simple solution, 2 LMGs, minigun + maxed gunner spec. killing enemies without releasing the trigger gives ammo and armor, reloads are faster, mag pouches add 50 rounds, banshee and riot foam renders hostiles useless, and the minigun demolishes armor.

If you are talking about the proficiency rank, either use the gun to kill enemies or have the gun equip when you use other guns, both way can gain xp toward the gun's proficiency, but use it to kill gain more xp then only have it equip. Alternative way is increase the proficiency level at the workbench.

farm a dps set like strikers. countdown challenging is a good place for loot. it drops a lot of items and also a lot of named items. you can use the credits to buy some different caches including named and exotic. but you want dps there. skills are a nogo since they get hacked.

there is a build spreadsheet pinned in #td2-build-advice that has a ton of good builds. itll give you an idea of what items to start farming for

matchmaking into open world stuff is a good way to build up shd level

there is a ton to do when starting out , can be overwhelming. getting a good build will make everything else easier

after you get something usable, then matchmake into challenging countdown.

I'm just feeling really good about the loot grind today. I rescued some hostages in the open world and one of them dropped Coyote's Mask with maxed out weapon damage rolls on it, and then I finished Summit and got the Adamant Mask (trying to start collecting the Hunter masks).

yes, its a decent dps. make sure if you use it, also use the technician specialization to unlock the linked laser pointer. heartbreaker builds stacks off of pulsed enemies and linked laser pulses anything you aim at.

heart breaker does drop with blue cores so you need the attributes to be red. crit chance, crit damage attributes. this way you can roll weapon damage (red cores) on the gear

It’s solo-able (finished it today) and is pretty straight forward and easy, yeah. The Hunters are the only real challenge. As a game mode it’s just really time consuming. Thankfully it doesn’t have to be done in one sitting 🤣

It was my first Summit run and I did it on Hard. Very doable.

Going to NY "too early" (I.e before getting to wt5 /finishing tidal basin) will cause your character to get boosted and might lock you out from some achievements

Yep. So each boss will drop a component and you get the last one from the box so 5 parts in total.

You also need to have the police 686 magnum replica blueprint as it's used in crafting the regulus.
