it's not an exotic but if you're after a rifle the classic M1A is my favourite by miles. slower fire rate and hence higher damage than all the other rifles so you don't need to click like a madman to get the most out of it

any countdown difficulty will give currency you use to buy those caches, higher difficulty = more currency tho. challenging is the most popular, i'd start there. take a dps build, follow the crowd and you'll do fine

go in with at least 50 open inventory slots, don't stop and evaluate loot, grab everything and keep running, sort it out after

that bulwark pfe one got kinda removed from the list as for most of the pfe places i rather do a halfshield with a scorpio or AR over a bulwark pistol, it could be used for solo legendaries but even there it was kinda lacking,
i still have it as a build, but i use it with a scorpio+AR with a coyote mask swaped in for the d&h piece,
it will get updated soon to reflect that, just havent yet,
as a more generalist pfe make 5.16

and chc/chd is easier to use is the reason for that, going headshot is worth it if you need the other slot for something else, but less useable for general use

there isnt a single best, it depends on your build, and what you want from that talent slot, for pve fasthands, strained, optimist and flatline are the common ones, but even stuff like preservation can be usefull in cases

depends, if you're doing high xp stuff then you can just carry it. Fastest way is probably targeted loot on countdown, and either donating or deconstructing and donating

Pretty sure unless it got changed, that literally doesn't matter, you get proficiency XP on stuff you're wearing purely based on kill XP that's the same regardless of difficulty

So it's actually faster and easier to level expertise in a training set in lower difficulties (where you have 1-2 weapons, at least 1 or more gear pieces, and 1 or 2 skills all set to random stuff that you need proficiency still on, while allowing 4-5 gear slots + 1 weapon to carry you - very doable in heroic still but it's especially fast if you say catch backup calls from low difficulty or even non-max level people doing story)

And so since it's just the more enemies you kill the faster it goes, lower difficulties mean you're likely killing more enemies faster so it levels quicker

convoys, territory control, bounties, CPs. depends on your mood and how quickly you can complete the activity.

i've been doing territory controls myself, then if i wander past a convoy or public exec i do those.

and yeah, if you're slower on heroic just go challenging if you can clear it faster until you feel comfy in heroic

no point going harder if it takes you twice as long for sure.

slap on as many directives as you can handle too since they boost xp

territory controls have 1 less wave then convoys so that's nice (lil faster) and same XP as a convoy. bounties are (speaking strictly of heroic difficulty atm) are double the XP of convoys and most other activities but take a bit longer.

and nah, usually when you change map settings the map will reload and you get respawned at a nearby location. so i don't know how they would've done that.

but as cletus said, just keep em on at all times (if you can manage it), most aren't much of a hindrance

it's easy enough to do, I run heroic with all except pistolero (no pistol build atm) and do open world stuff with your average HE all red dps/ar build

HB is a great place to start imo, nice combo of boosted damage and bonus armour

auto shoty especially is pretty nuts as each pellet counts as a stack. get up close, blast with that to build stacks then switch to AR to clean up

the build Kirra mentioned above is top tier damage and pretty versatile, could be used with a rifle

i have a build like that which uses AR and rifle, less survivability than HB but the damage is nuts. not having to build stacks can be nice, instant max damage from the first shot

i don't think it's very new player friendly tho due to the lack of survivability. low armour, no healing/bonus armour talents

those would all help, HB will still give you a greater margin of error imo

with HB i look at it more as excluding the low RPM stuff rather than having to have the highest RPM stuff only

turret and drone take a lot of agro tho, it's pretty different when everyone's shooting directly at you

Kirra's build swapping the backpack out for memento can work really well too, a little less damage but more armour and armour regen

there's no 1 path, there's loads of fun builds that can work

have you seen the pinned spreadsheet in #td2-build-advice ? it has a bunch of good builds detailed in it

did you see how you can donate loot to level up expertise?

when you're out hunting, mark stuff as junk that you don't need. when full, go back to base to the expertise desk and donate junk

expertise is 2 stage, firstly you need to be proficient with the item by earning xp using it or donating duplicates. once proficient you can spend materials to upgrade 1 item at a time

so you mentioned an empress backpack. firstly you'd need to be proficient with the empress brand set, reach rank 10 by either using any empress pieces or by donating empress junk. then once empress is rank 10 proficiency you can pick a specific, singular item, a specific backpack, and upgrade that

recal is different since it's changing 1 stat on an item. expertise ranks on a specific item add a bonus stat. each rank on an AR for example gives +1% damage

unlock an item category generally by hitting rank 10 proficiency, then you can upgrade specific items in that category using expertise

kinda complicated to explain but simple in practice once you start messing around with it

the proficiency stage is general, the expertise stage is item specific

similar to optimisation, expertise is expensive so you'll only use either of these options on gear you want to max out and use long term

yeah the main thing i'd be doing early on in terms of expertise is the marking of unwanted loot as junk and donating it to the expertise desk

that way you'll gradually chip away at lots of proficiencies slowly over time

very little effort for gradual progress. max'ing out expertise is a massive grind, definitely not something worth focussing on early on imo

i'd just leave them for now, spend them on whatever you're short on when you find a project you want to dump a lot of resources into

There is no solution, it's an engine issue. In the State of Play stream one of the Developers said they're looking to hire Specialist forensic level personnel to go over their code with a fine tooth comb and a magnifying glass. 1. Play fullscreen windowed
2. Try playing dx11

Try fast traveling between New York, Washington, DZ and The Summit or using another character allows you to do the S.T.A.R project multiple times a day. Just do that until it's fixed but you got until May 9th to complete it all

there are different buffs/debuffs each time based on the 3 terminals at the start. also could be from buffs from your team mates
