yeah, i spoke of this years ago, wanna try a new gun? NOPE, you will get farmed unless u spend a full working day opening boxes to get 50 exos, OR do what other people do and abuse farming exploits, the devs gave u no other option, NOW everything is cheap so that has been remedied for the most part, getting 20 on a gun is enough to test it and is rather cheap so thats good, EXPERTISE should have been capped to 20 in PvP at the current prices, still a lil grind but not so much that u have to be a loser no life to test anything interesting or worthwhile.

even during the worst metas there have always been some fairly unique under the radar builds that could compete but most people could never dream of even making them because expertise said NO.

wanna come back to the game after a year? yeah get gear gapped, gg, spend 2 weeks no lifing PvE, go dz, get RPMd, uninstalled

so now im holding out on crossplay + the anti cheat update, this will make or break the game, lets see if the devs can cook

i've just been fighting some people using the new Bittersweet Rifle, which looks pretty cool but the only people using it are support players that shoot NPCs through walls and you wonder why their team mates constantly have x2 of their armour as bonus armour, it looks like max heartbreaker stacks

6.6M armour, max drone, dps output like umbra, no recoil (capacitor doesnt move), so fun

They never think of PvP when they add shit its always massive buffs for PvE players but the PvE players dont use anything but striker.

Capacitor is something I need aswell I have one in stash just need to re-roll then level to 30 🤣 weeks grind

Actually no, with Core Strength you can run Mortar with 2M armor and just stagger everybody to death while still having great dps

I don't think you can, but don't quote me exactly on that as I haven't been under 40 for years. It's very important to get the best rolls possible on your gear, I'd highly recommend farming everything to make the best build possible before diving deep into pvp. Farming for a good build doesn't take long at all either, a week at most if seriously casual

Countdown or retaliation matchmaking until you get a piece of core strength with skill tier core attribute, then just roll crit onto it. Hardest part has to be getting the high ends though, so don't expect those to be perfect or too easy

Should see how PC cheating is. Full auto nemesis? Yawn. Try hitting a target you literally can't hit because they're super sonic speed running through the entire dark zone in .3 seconds and can shoot you fully through walls. Also damage boost too

Without attributes maxed your crit chance will suffer, farm until you get core strength piece with skill tier and then just roll crit chance onto it

@sullen prawn I've got system corruption, quite a bit of it. Used to main it for quite a while until I stopped. Everything would outperform it. Now it's reduced down to only really being used in 1v1's or as Pulse-counter

As kettle said, some drops as armor and others drop as weapon damage. It's not exactly easy to farm the set but it's not exactly hard either. Just requires spending stars on legacy caches during global events (they cost 12 per cache).

Honestly I love the game but I love the PvP and the social aspect an all the drama what comes with DZ only so long I can PvE especially if theirs nothing I really need. For me it's all just an "oo shiny". I've got a few things I use frequently that's prototype but that's as far as they're going: just prototype. Not going for perfect. It's not worth the gamble.

As for the pvp side of things, some of the newer gear has ruined it even more. If it isn't core strength, it's umbra. If it's neither, it's status or Regen. That's it

for each bullet thats shot a multiplier is added, 1=2, 1=3, 1=4, etc, they can go up to 32, shoot 1 bullet get as many hits as u want, anti cheat doesnt detect it

usually you can tell when someone does it because it shows in the bullet trail as a fan or at least a brighter stream of bullets if set to a low number like 2-3 which is enough to turn a bad player into a god

its so rampant that people are quick to assume when u are dealing a lot of damage, its just... the damage is so high in the game and people are rightly paranoid that it gets thrown around a lot as cope

Like you could delete all your builds and make different variations of core strength and that would be fine its totally removed build diversity from the game. If you encounter people using status effecs, if u have a crit version then the Ceska + ninjabike combo gives u 10+20% hazard, if u use a Booster maxed out with Expertise then u get like 96% hazard when on the boosters buff whilst retaining full crit value

Bighorns just do the retaliations for Black Tusk until you get the BP. If you run 3 tidal basing you get 3 black tusk retaliations. Its a grind but its easy enough.

Positioning and build choices obviously do matter too and stats. But skill alone 99% of the time will declare a winner

I used to pvp 24/7. I eventually became like those players that took it personally. It destroyed me entirely. I had to stop playing just to find myself slowly crawling back and enjoying pvp maybe once or twice here and there. But the entire meta shift completely fk'd it over

I’ve played the game a lot but I’ve had massive gaps in between me playing I’ve got like 1500 hours I think. Its hard for me to motivate myself to invest effort into it tbh its dead the dz and I don’t enjoy how much damage is in the game you die almost instantly.

sometimes i mm for conflict, but every time i regret it, its just ran by pre-mades that i know i would 1v3 in dz, taking advantage against randoms and a small map u cant change pieces or skills to adapt or counter, cant change your spawn, die to a 1 tap rocket launcher because they clicked a button on a box, i just cant man

I don't either. I personally went back to COD. Same broken mess, it's at end of life, and rarely if ever do cheaters now get banned (I'm playing MW3, the newer one). While it isn't scratching my itch entirely, it's still some sort of PVP. At least I'm not waiting 15 minutes to queue into a game, im in one in 15 seconds and after 5 minutes I either stay or back out due to shit matchmaking algorithm. But hey, it's better than being killed in .017384 seconds

Yeah that's also why I kinda stopped with that too. I don't mind going against good conflict players. UDT has taught me quite a lot fighting against and with them whenever I random MM. But now it's just being overrun with blatant cheaters or closet cheaters. Or as mentioned, taking advantage of not being able to counter

I played 1 match just the other day, for shits and giggles. Instantly the moment I got my first match, some guy in an all blue build was MELTING with capacitor. No crit rolls, no headshot, just hazard and Regen. All blue. Just like a crip. Yet melted like full glass cannon

Then again, this game has next to no playerbase so doing a matchmaking filter would make queue times take hours

in DZ if i find a team doing their thing I have tools at my disposal, i can adapt, change build or shange a skill, whatever, i can....... INVITE SOMEONE, in Conflict if u go in with a premade its the most mind numbing experience, i dont get it, u stomp everything that moves

My biggest annoyance is dying in conflict, swapping to my loadouts, then the game says "nah ur in combat" but my team is on the opposite side of the map actively being shredded bc they walked into enemy spawn

I think the way you play is just different to most I remember the day we were fighting and you were sniping an you were using the map working your way around it most people i come across in dz dont play like that they just hold staircase or safe room angles,

Until they are down to 1 or 2 players then run to next checkpoint.. the only time they move

It's hard to flank when you're being counter flanked

If you don't see them come from one direction, check whichever other ones. Never fails. Works all the time in conflict. People are easy to predict

Also, he might have the one dz perk that lets him see non rogue agents nameplates further when he's rogue

I was looking at some old saved clips and there used to be PvP around the map, in various locations, but these days it really is just stairs, saferooms, cinema, why u ask? because the devs have added more damage and more damage and more damage, oh and did i forget? MORE DAMAGE so any random player can wipe a team with a flank job, so an organised team is FORCED to play indoors in a tight spot to stay alive

Yeah and it creates a shit environment for both rogues and the police as we call them cos then both sides are sat holding weird angles just shooting hoping to get picks rather than actually moving, flanking, playing the map, because if you move you’re dead.

this wouldnt be an issue if there were more spawns around the map, not just checkpoints and 1 SINGULAR saferoom, also why the devs thought it was a good idea to change the ROGUE SYNC to be map wide instead of RANGE LIMITED like in division 1, thats been a major issue since launch.

And to think in the earlier days u could delay your rogue timer until u got back to your team, devs saw this workaround to a shi system and said "oh hell nawww we INTEND for marathon gameplay to be a thing" and removed that

now u kill 1 rogue player, and he spaws across the map, u chase rogues for 10 mins picking them off 1 by 1 until they get fed up and clear, type ez in the chat and everyones mood is killed

And we don't do that whole "spawn across the map" shit either. That's cheesy. We keep it somewhat confined and when we move positions then are we allowed to move

Like say you're far right DZ West and you move to bottom right DZ West. If you die you have to spawn within those areas to keep it fair

i think most people understand that a regroup is a thing that needs to happen, sometimes u can just let a runner regroup and to be fair, this sometimes results in a different camp spot which at times is more interesting

Yeah that was literally what these groups would do. You can't foam em, can't counter them, can't catch up to them. They would abuse the kits

They'd only fight you if they can get you into a 1v1 situation. Otherwise it's run across the DZ and don't get trapped

VERY cheesy way to hold a manhunt. Everyone gave up and yeah like you said, "ez manhunt" and that was the end of it

I would've lost 61 lbs that session had it been an IRL workout from all that in game running

I've noticed I've lost a good amount of my skill I had when I religiously played pvp. I'm slow, second guessing myself, making dumb plays because meta was different then, and getting overall confused by the pacing. It's not what I remember

The pacing was so much more aggressive. So much more ballsy. Go big or go home. Also avoid being shredded by umbra. Now I have to question every single corner if there's a stinger or if I'm going to catch 31 sticky bombs to my face
