HN3 needs to properly explain the story, world, And lore of this franchise. The lore and story has been so jumbled and all over the place, And not in a fun way. It’s genuinely upsetting that there is no proper story explanation and world building. The Guest is still in a weird state of character limbo and hasn’t revealed of what it truly is and its intentions. The Peterson family is even more complicated than ever and still has so many unanswered questions. Why is there a Mya mannequin and Diane mannequin. What are the forest protectors true intentions. Why did the forest protectors become a thing in the first place. Why hasn’t the Mayak been fully explored and developed. Why is there so many inconsistencies in the story as a whole. I know the books add little details to the story but the books have a weird way of tying into the mainline games and makes the world building much more difficult to piece together.

Like I get being upset about not getting continuations to existing things (I too wish we had more of certain things), but most of this franchise is a big mess of inconsistencies and retcons when it comes to lore and stuff. Even the same topics are different between entries 😭
I'd rather HN3 be disconnected, instead of trying to tie itself around 50 different strings of lore. Especially since even if it does tie into existing stuff, it'll probably do it differently just like every piece of HN media before it.
