It's slowly growing. Just because people don't play it doesn't mean people don't watch it.
Halo content does extremely well on YouTube and does good on twitch during LANs. A lot of people think they a game can't make money if people don't play it, that's false. You get a lot of money from viewership as well.
Average twitch views so far this year are 6k a day. Last year around this time it was 2k.

The last update hardly had any content and 343 said they not doing any more seasons. Just some very slight additions to the game (So basically very little content)

Halo itself is also not dead in ANZ - it's just HCS feeling dead in ANZ.
There's lots of community run tournaments still happening in ANZ that aren't under the HCS banner and have a ton of teams competing in it.
IMO, Halo, Halo Infinite, and HCS are all separate things with separate popularities, but they all interact and affect each other to some degree.
Before this year started, I figured there would be a year 4 to some degree for Infinite HCS. Something akin to how H5 had like a half year in it's final year.
But now, I personally am worried about next year for HCS seeing as we still don't even have dates for two of the Majors for this year.
If it's proving this difficult to manage the current year, I can't imagine much planning or work being done for next.

The game feels good offline. The issue is online although there are minor fixes needed offline as lan events still have issues.

I would love to see more in MX and ANZ, but we have a ways to go. It would be beneficial if they held an event there as it would help the scene. Justifying it is the hard part.

2016 HaloWC (Halo 5) had 8 NA teams, 4 EU, 2 ANZ, 1 MX and 1 Asia.
However, that Asian (Singaporian) team failed to win a single match and dropped out of the tournament in top 16th place.

While the "best player" will almost always be subjective, I do believe Lucid is one of the most likeable players in HCS. It's simple really, he exhibits humility first and foremost. As I've gotten older, I've realized humility and honesty are probably the most important qualities in regards to being likeable.

Yup, he launched in 2021 with other caster a production to follow Halo esport but they all got fed up with how little regard HCS was for Grassroots (they were affiliate to Europa Halo) at the time. They could'nt get raw stream for exemple and exposure. And how were managed lan at the time (you know the 4 hours delay in Raleigh due to Infinite not ready to be released)

My speculation is that he had a single year visa that let him play in Year 1, and then when applying for year 2, it wasn't approved for whatever reason.
After year 2 ended, he sent out this confusing tweet.
Which led me to believe he was implying that the issue previously was that he was being 'employed' by an Org based in the USA, and that as long as he was signed to an org NOT based in the USA, they would let him enter the states to play in tournaments.
Seeing as how he didn't get into the sates again, it doesn't seem like being employed by a USA based Org was the problem.

Despite these early 2k tournaments and the qualifier, i think Optic looked really good in recent scrims especially against SSG and Faze. I think they can win this one. I also can see one of the top 4-top 6 team making it to grand finals. Shopify Rebellion or Complexity more than Sentinels. Can't wait to be proved wrong lol, i'm so excited
