What if HCS switched to a 4 day major format (obvs they’d need a bigger budget)
Day one: only open bracket, matches are streamed all day so teams get viewership, top 4 make it to pools and top 5-8 make it to elim bracket round one. 2 teams from each region get travel coverage
Day 2: 16 team pools (12+4 open bracket)
Day 3: champ bracket- last place team vs open bracket 5-8 is lr1, top team from pools in wr2, all others in wr1
~ loser of wr1 plays winner of lr1 between open and last place pools team

• winners of wr1 go to wr2 to play top pools teams like usual
  Day 4: normal bracket stuff

More streamlined and easier to follow

also makes it more in line with modern comp tacshooters (CS, Siege, and Valorant) where the "bomb" has little to no hud/timer and much of the game is reliant on audio cues and player positioning to hear those cues

I think that team could be amazing or really underwhelming. All four guys are great in a vacuum but all have question marks. Is Mikwen still a top tier player that can win a major? Season two was underwhelming for him. Was APG holding back Optic or was he actually that glue guy that his teammates all said? Can Neptune be the dominate guy he was in H5 even though he took off two years? And Kuhlect was supposed to be the next best thing and carried a team to Top6 at worlds only to have an underwhelming season two.

Kuhlect needs to improve his awareness and work with the rest of his team which I think can really only come with more experience playing with the same team- he got tossed around a bunch last year

Correct but it’s already been announced that Red was dropped/broken up. Plus Mikwen posted some vague emoji hints to a roster and Gaskin replied to announce it already unless he was chicken and Mikwen responded with mentioning DerangedNative to put the ball in his court. I highly doubt that they all of a sudden changed course and dropped them.

Plus from I know, Mikwen and DerangedNative are super close and Mikwen was always planning on coming back after the one year break to play on N8V.

What's everyone thoughts on the esports industry in general? Faze absolutely tanked in the public markets; g1 is smoke in mirrors and maybe short-lived; etc? So much potential but it seems they take 1 step forward and 500 back.

Hey there, I posted to the Halo Faceit discord server a couple of days ago but haven't heard anything back.

Do you happen to know anything about the off season tournament regarding how our team is supposed to actually match with our opponents? Is it just through a custom game lobby or something? Do we invite our opponent team to a party to coordinate? Thanks in advance

It'll be a custom game lobby, yes.

Typically the higher seeded team is the one that needs to set up the match - and invite the lower seeded team

the invitation is typically just an xbox message/invitation.

And there is also a 'portal' through faceit where you can message each other, and also admins

admins usually respond in the tournament messaging portal pretty quick
