There are things you can do with a mouse way beyond what you can do with a controller.

Probably because they're long standing players, some of them competing in Halo tournaments since 2004/2007, they're going to be more used to using controller.
And also, for the entirety of the 1st and 2nd season, controller gets aim assist, MnK does not. The advantage of aim assist is too much to let go on MnK.

Now that there's aim assist in Mouse and Keyboard, maybe we'll see some players using it, only time will tell.

Remember that more than a tournament, you're offering a show. Making one whole show is hard enough imagine making two.

Not everyone thinks it is an issue and 343 has it the way they want it. Not saying you’re wrong, it’s your opinion, but 343 isn’t going to fix something that they believe is working as planned.

They said they are going to use CSR to matchmake instead of MMR, but they buried it in a link at the very end of the winter update notes, worded in a sketchy way that makes me think they aren't really going to solve the problem.
I really hope I'm wrong but the fact that they haven't suggested when it might land makes me think it's not going to happen.
What I want to know is why would any player **not **want the rank that you see in the game be used to matchmake? What we've had leads to a large percentage of the ranked population having a bad experience, some with MMR significantly higher than CSR. And for what? So people that are new to ranked don't get pounded in the first few matches because the system doesn't otherwise know their skill (driving motivation for TrueSkill 2 based matchmaking)? There's a better solution for that, but losing is what drives inexperienced players to get better. If they're unskilled and they come into ranked they should lose consistently until the system settles them into a small enough skill distribution slice where if they get better, they can rank up incrementally. Any competitive person will want to keep getting better until they don't get crushed every game. And if you aren't competitive, why are you searching ranked? But again, there are other approaches to minimize that experience by more quickly accelerating players into their appropriate tiers, but I will not go into that here.
Bottom line is we know CSR driven matchmaking (every Halo ranked matchmaking that used TrueSkill 1 to some effect) worked well enough to not create a cycle of solo hell for a lot of players. I don't understand why more competitive players don't care about this. Well, maybe they do and it is part of why they stopped playing but we just don't know it? A better experience would bring more popularity to HCS. I just hope it's not too late.
Sadly, I think they knew this would tank ranked popularity after they switched MCC to use it in the summer of 2020.

OG, Faze, and SSG are obviously still loaded. G1 and N8V White are the most interesting to me. Both I think can be contenders if chemistry is there. Really hyped about watching them play top teams in Charlotte.

As for Sentinels, I think they will fail and will be the most fun to watch if they do. I really like watching Spartan and Kuhlect and I believe on Luthul, but I don’t believe in Luthul and Nick together. What makes it interesting is Spartans reaction to everything and the drama that ensues. Get me some popcorn if they underperform, can’t wait.

The name is "Australia Halo" but yes, I think they are broadcasting the open

ANZ was about 20 teams at the end of last year, so 16 is not a huge decrease. (-20%) while Europe is down by 30% (about 30-35 before)

Top teams from qualifiers to get paid travel and pool play spots, but all the teams that got them were pro teams. You have to be very good to get that. You can also get a team pass and play in the Open bracket, top four teams move on from that and join the pools. It is similar to the MLG days.

It's crazy that because the open wasn't broadcast, some of those teams that qualified there might never get broadcast if they place last in pools.

This is the worst broadcast LAN I've seen from HCS since I started watching in 2017/2018

Here's how crazy this is.
Cloud9 is a partnered team.
Of course, they didn't play well in the qualifiers, so they had to play in the Open Bracket - that's fine and good and fair.
But, HCS didn't cover ANY of those games, not even for Complexity either, another partnered team!

Now, C9 made it into pools, but NO POOL PLAY WAS BROADCASTED today.
C9 lost all their games.
They had a chance to get broadcasted, but HCS failed.

A partnered team, playing all weekend, got no broadcast coverage, despite making it into Pools.
