I will admit though as much as I enjoyed the movie trilogy I felt the whole wedding subplot in 2 to be entirely unnecessary

I can't find hard numbers but on wikipedia they've combined merch and game sales. Basically they capitalized on amazing marketing on 4 fronts; their initial prime product (the video games), merch, media, and lifestyle.

And their biggest earner for media didn't come out until over 20 years after the franchise had started, and it goes without saying that alone is a testament to the strength of the franchise

You Pokemon fans may like this story: had my first--and a very cool--experience with Pokemon trading cards this weekend.

Buddy had a binder full of Pokemon cards he collected as a kid. So we went to a local shop that was known to be conscientious and fair. The rep started looking, then her eyes were bugging out and she called over other reps, who were exclaiming about "this is a 1st edition" and "you have more of this card stacked behind it??" etc. They were calling out which ones they'd buy from the store after he sold them, etc.

One card was $2k value and the eyeball value of the binder was $5,000-$7,000, so he'll go in and get them graded one by one.

It was awesome to, in this entire deep world that I've only heard of and never been a part of, see the passion and excitement in the faces of people who have been in that world for so long. Really cool experience!

My grandfather took me to the mall where they had a pokemon card vendor person there. I got one pack of cards and pulled the holo lugia right in front of them. The look on their face was priceless

Ok lowkey i had to look this upbut the word morning it's meant to be a counterpart to evening (duh) but morning and evening are transitional periods of a day hence it being an action word (since morn and eve are words in themselves). Versus day and night which are static and midday/midnight that are exact times during the day.
