No, I think this is their last shot before the franchise fades into obscurity. The modern Halo games no longer compete with other shooters like COD and Battlefield… hasn’t for a long time.

New players who came into the franchise at H4 on onward probably did not get hooked the same way as the Bungie days because the story dropped off, started copying other franchises with adding sprint etc. making it much less unique, changed the art design that was very offputting in 343 era (just look at how ugly the Grunts and Elites were in H4 and H5)

If they fail to satisfy the OG fans with this remake of Halo CE then I think they are totally cooked and this franchise will basically become totally irrelevant moving forward

Halo isn't the only franchise to fall into this sort of state.
Many games have been taken over by new companies or have had change in leadership/development teams that they take it in a new direction. Kind of like how FNAF started to decline after Scott stopped being the main center point when making games.

Honestly I think it's because 343/Halo Studios come directly from Microsoft where Bungie was able to disconnect themselves from Microsoft. This is a loose canon theory but it does make sense.
And when it comes to this remake, Resident Evil 2 was completely changed. So was Dead Space. They don't play, look, or sound at all like the original. No they didn't reuse assets, but stop trying to make a REMAKE look, play and sound like the original. I've seen that everywhere.

And I think Halo studios has a clear understanding of what we want but we keep leading them in so many directions whilst they try to do their own thing whether or not that's a good thing. Like Call Of Duty fans back during the Infinite Warfare era.

They tried to do their “own thing” with H4 and H5 and almost killed the entire franchise. Then they went back to “trying” to respect some of the original art style and things with Infinite but still kept some wonky 343 art design elements (like remaking the original Bungie looking grunts but then also deciding to keep the Halo 4 designs too and having both together, which is just distracting and clashing art designs… it seems they also just ported those same assets over to Halo Campaign Evolved)

I think a remake needs to respect the original and then improve where possible (such as with graphical fidelity, adding new guns, maybe expanding some levels etc.) but it’s the wrong place to force some completely different feeling art design from 343 era or whatever IMO. I think that shows a sort of lack of respect for the game they are actually remaking. H2 Anniversary actually made custom designs that were in the spirit of the original Halo 2 so it is weird that Hale Campaign Evolved is going back to Halo CE Anniversary with re-using assets from a different game again. Like, why just repeat the same mistake multiple times. Can we just get a respectful remake/remaster of the first game like what we got with H2 Anniversary

Then infinite still released in the state it did, and it never got a fair shake. I think it's probably why they haven't shown much of campaign evolved. They don't want this happening again

Spartans are powerful. But they are in a realistic range of things. Their not full of plot armor and things that would make other heros invincible. Master chief is as likely to die as any other Spartan. The only unrealistic thing which makes master chief a typical hero is that he has luck. Chiefs plot armor is luck.

that weight isn't really a restriction but the force works, differently than JUST space magic, it does use midichlorians and all. but it sitll has its limits and many people just seem to think the Force means being able to do anything but its not that simple
