They didn't. Bungie sold to the IP to Microsoft back in 2000, then decided they wanted to break from that agreement to do other things. 343 were created internally by Microsoft as a company to take the Halo IP forward, rather than dealing with another external development studio

Since halo 4, it is showcased that they have a deep and major connection that might affect the entire ongoing story (as described in the intro), which never happens. Halo 4 and 5 intros both showcasing the past connections of halsey with master chief and cortana but, both intros are completely irrelevant to the main storyline game, infinite went onto doin the same thing again but with this time it did our little effect on the story. Tested my rejoin fix again this morning to make sure it wasnt a fluke. It wasnt!

Today MCC fails to rejoin if your game crashes. If the game doesnt crash, it works fine, but if it does, it regenerates and passes along some new information behind the scenes that forces the rejoin to fail and bans you.

But, with a little magic, we can send the right values and boom - rejoins work! 🙂 Ive been stuck on this for over a month, and its been broken for over a year. So I'm excited about it

This is why I wrote up an entire technical guide pointing to exactly what values they need to fix. Its true, it may never happen, but I've done a bunch of the heavy lifting so it should help. Maybe.

If you are on Linux its almost 100% a bug w/ the EAC check. Sorry, I assume windows on PC b/c you know....99.99% and all that 😛
