Halo 2 also suffers from some bad level and encounter design, especially the latter with encounters like the various long gondola/elevator sections or any encounter involving Jackal Snipers. Granted with the latter, it's more the NPC behaviour being way too overtuned to making them a threat to you that they just delete your head as soon as they see you
