Just finished watching the premiered developer deep dive and I am genuinely impressed that they made a novel assembly of gameplay elements into a new experience amidst a sea of live-service sameness. Very cool to learn about all the innovations they put into it.

It is not wise to shame others for their use of tools. It is true that the development of these technologies has not been kind on our resources, but that is all the more reason to demand accountability. i want to start by saying, that i 1000% percent think it needs to be regulated and the people leading that conversation shouldn't exclusively be CEOs at the head of these corporations using/investing in a.i.

as far as any industry that has an underlying profit motive is concerned, you're always going to see companies start using the tools of the day to best achieve their goals (i.e. profit). i think it's inconsistent to say "x shouldn't use this tool for y," if you also believe devs shouldn't be shamed for using them in their workflows (or anyone else for that matter that uses a.i.)

if you're still going to use the products/services of companies that invest in/leverage a.i., you also bear some of the weight in the proliferation of those tools. that's why approaching any of this from some grounds of "moral superiority" probably isn't the best way to have this discussion, especially not with the "average" "every day" consumer
