Halo 5 was extremely well received by loads of people. Casual players loved it, Pro players loved it, it was a great experience over-all.
The game was extremely popular for years to, from 2015 all the way to 2020.
Halo 5 revived the custom games community, clan community, HCS, competitive Halo in general, loads of Youtubers started there careers off of it.

It was just the niche "classic halo" audience that hated it (mainly people who use reddit). Which is how we get Infinite's less then 10,000 player population since Feb. 2022, Halo youtubers quitting, or abandoning Halo altogether.

I'm beginning to think this guy had Xbox Live Gold for years, which got turned into "xbox game pass core" back in July 2023, which always had Halo 5 part of it's line up. He either didn't know this or realize it until one day he could just play "Halo 5" as if he owned it.

Xbox Game Pass Essential (the new name for Core), also has Halo 5 included with it's subscription, which he obviously ran out of.

you're thinking of Achilles which you only got from completing every Commendation inside a Spartan Company.
That's basically impossible to do now though. You have to already be inside of a Spartan Company, because joining them isn't possible anymore.

And even if you are in one, it's impossible to tell what commendations you should be focusing on due to the lack of any visual feedback, along with the fact that it'd just take way to much time to do in general.

Its much harder than it used to be b/c of the framerate changes, but I never really dug into why. I remember LNOS is wayyyyy tougher.

Enemies shoot way faster and act more aggressively. I think the tick rate or frame rate that gauges how long they are aggressive/how aggressive they are gets overclocked in the equation.

Something like that, yeah. I remember some back/forths on whether they actually shoot faster or just more often, thats the part where it gets gray for me. But def more difficult either way

That increased aggression would be especially felt on LNOS as it's a long segment with no reliable cover. Meaning you get attacked far more often with far more projectiles far faster even more often than normal.

I had to play that mission in the MCC version in extreme coward mode. Pop out from the station, kill one thing, and swing back around to wait for shields to replenish.

The Silver Timeline is its own separate continuity, it's not canon to the game timeline yes, but it does have its own continuity which it exists in. Like how there's multiple versions of Batman depending on the medium or creative team in charge. Nobody believes the Kevin Conroy Batman and the Robert Pattinson Batman are the same continuity, not would people be given any reason to think they are the same Batman
