Because Co-Op on MCC is an unfinished product. In Halo 2 it will still crash if one of you drives too fast / far away from the other. The main cause is one persons hardware is much better than the other, need to make the slower PC host.

A person acting as the server needs a good internet connection, at least 30 Mbps download and upload, and a properly configured router with UPnP enabled and standard firewall rules to automatically pass game ports. A decent network cable is also required.

Another thing is that the person's Windows operating system, Microsoft Store, and Xbox app must be up-to-date. They cannot use Windows antispyware programs because this blocks communication with the Microsoft server, including Xbox Live.
