I think if you're going to do a Telltale-style game, it's best to tell a Halo story that you can't tell in a regular game - meaning lean away from stories that are about frontline combat (people would rather have that story, and have that combat, in an ordinary Halo game without compromise), and lean into other interesting parts of the setting that don't need to rely on Halo's combat gameplay.

i know its a bit of a dead horse but im really disappointed with call of duty. it was like 12 year old me's favourite game franchise ever when i only played the multiplayer because it was such a fun designed fps with so much to play with.

even now ive recently started to appreciate the campaign way more with bo1 and i love how it messes around with the perspective of the character you play as in the game. it really made you question your sense of vengeance and honor

but now its absolutely depressing cos almost all of that artistic intent and passion is completely gone and it feels like its so commercialised with stuff like a season pass, cosmetic microtransaction, and even straight up ai art. its indicative of where AAA video game industries are going and it makes me sad knowing that the developers who are actually passionate about their stuff barely get any financial support being ENTIRELY crowdfunded or in some cases, out of their own pockets while stuff that exploits the players for their money are the ones which are advertised and become more popular

Camping is only individual gain unless your whole team is doing it, and they aren’t likely to do so. Camping is useless in the face of actual team work. Ultimately, the best strategy is to keep the opposing team apart with staying strategic and close to fellow team mates

God I hope the rumors of Halo Studios using and investing more and more in genAI are false. (note that I said rumors, ergo I know they are rumors and thus are not confirmed so don’t bother saying anything about that, I understand that I am only talking about what is only a rumor for now and may not be the case.)

I love halo, it’s one of my favorite franchises out of any medium. I don’t want to be forced to abandon it, but generative AI is disgusting, evil, and, even if it weren’t those things, it’s still just plain garbage.

If they’re gonna be using it for ANYTHING—especially art, writing, voice acting, music, cutscenes, models, etc.—then I don’t see how I could ever morally be capable of supporting and continuing to engage with it.

I hope they realize how awful this is and don’t use GenAI at all.

No real studio is going to make games that are entirely AI-generated and the studios that have admitted to it emphasised that it's used to assist in small ways like generating placeholder concept art or helping with the boring stuff that still gets reviewed and fixed by actual devs.
