The aesthetics are different cause 343 wanted to separate themselves from bungie and yeah I agree it was stupid. You press a lot of buttons likely due to the Xbox 360 not being able to handle halo 4 so during the small 2 second sequence it loaded everything in the background like gears of war 3 did. And the UNSC is stupid because they’re the military and the military is stupid lol.

1. The humanity's (and especially Chief's) relation with the arbiter and fighting against the brutes and the flood should not make that possible. I get that there's a explanation because 343 had no idea on how to continue so they just made something up to try to get the halo feeling for the fans. its not even about the events, its about sangheli warrior culture and respect to the arbiter.
2. the military is not stupid. Or at least on the last three games they weren't. This whole separation between Chief and the military that 343 has been trying to force upon the storyline since Halo 4 breaks imersion and seriousness of the whole thing (yeah I get that talking about a video game, but the feeling is different when characters and a bit smart and make you admire them)

Most Spartans were listed as MIA, even when there's hard confirmation of them dying, because ONI wanted to sell the idea that Spartans can't be killed to the UNSC forces to boost morale. Six would likely be listed MIA as well in-universe. But even then, bringing Six back from the dead is a bad idea by virtue of it taking away from Halo Reach's ending. Reach does not work if Six comes back alive, nor would it be a guaranteed hit for the franchise
