I don’t normally like to apply mp logic to the lore since there are inconsistencies. You’re not wrong though that dmr/br/needle rifle is a 1 shot headshot in mp

The whole emp/radiation thing taking down their shields makes some sense, but in the time elapsed between the blast and them making it down the elevator would the shields not have recharged? There’s also no direct confirmation the shields even went down.

Another thing too is there are visual indicators in the cutscenes (and gameplay) when shields go down, like when Emile is killed for example. If they had wanted to communicate the shields were down, idk why they didn’t include that same logic there

Problem with Arc Raiders though is that nobody seems to see eye to eye on what the game should be, even though it’s marketed and praised as a PvPvE experience; however, you have people that don’t quite grasp the concept of an extraction shooter. Some people want to explore and loot and learn about the game’s world, but in the same breath you have to put up with the constant threat of PvP and losing your gear and looted goods.

Yeah it’s definitely a community thing. There’s also some balancing that needs to be done. You have basic gray item loadouts that can outshine a rare or legendary kitted player.

I see extraction games as really flawed from the ground up. Assuming the new marathon plays anything like destiny. Or Halo. With inventroy management. I don't see it being a great experience.

But it'd need to be a completely different experience.

There’s also the factor of players trying to fight “world boss” type enemies for more rare items, but then those players get wiped out by griefers and rats that’ll just scoop the items for themselves. So you may have actively killed a big enemy, but get much less of the reward for it.

Bungie was actually gonna add sprint to halo 2 but since they ran out of time it never really made the final cut. Now here is the thing, if bungie added it, people would not complain because their muscle memory would have time to adjust. but now that 343 added it, people are complaining mainly because of the fact that their muscle memory in multiplayers is not used to it so instead of just taking 3 small weeks to adjust, they whine about how it is too much like COD or that it's not classic halo when they literally essentially fulfilled one of bungie's wishlist features/

• Doesn’t appear there will be local mp support

The valid complaints are all regarding map design being made around the variable speed sprint introduces and how the ebb of Halo's gameplay is drastically changed with sprint and those map changes in mind. It's why old maps remade in forge, without old school settings never feel right. Whether it's a negative or positive, that's arguable, but sprint isn't needed for Halo to feel good. The H3 throwback playlist felt great.
