I know some people talk about using the home Xbox feature as a way to game share. That’s a workaround. It’s one that Microsoft is fine with, but it’s still a workaround.

And if you do set that up then in the event that servers act up or your internet goes down, then the other person will have access to your games while you don’t.

Oh I know. The way the home Xbox system works is once a console is set to your home Xbox it always has access to your games regardless of whether or not there are server issues or internet outages.

But a lot of people will tell you to set your home Xbox as your wife’s or your friends so they can play on their account have access to your games.

Reach is really interesting for me. The presentation is pretty amazing, I don’t love some designs but overall it looks very good in its grittier tone. Music is excellent. The writing and cinematography are very interesting in how much more grounded they are, far smaller in scale and clearly aiming more for immersion and mystery in the narrative. However…I feel it’s a narrative lacking in actually interesting characters. Sure some may have other material from books, but in the game itself nobody’s personality really gets much of a chance to shine in a big way (except Jorge, I love him). As for gameplay…bit of a mixed bag if I’m being honest. I would sum it up as an amazing campaign, but far from my favorite multiplayer due to my issues with the gameplay (did I mention I hate bloom and armor lock)

Sorry to yap, it’s just a unique game in the series for me

I think 4 is pretty high stakes in theory but doesn’t have the greatest build up and the gameplay isn’t the best at conveying the scale like 3 did

4 was the only one that actually got to conclude what it was going for, and it did it in a more restrictive linear way, so it feels less epic and grand

Yeah that was kind of hard to explain. Sorry 😂. It’s one of those things where you really need to shoot a Thompson to understand exactly what I’m talking about.

Like it’s a sub machine gun so it’s impossible to hold the gun on target perfectly so you’re gonna have bloom. But it’s also really controllable to you don’t have much muzzle rise.

Side track for anyone wondering or that may not know about this: while owning a machine gun made after a certain date (I think it was in the 80s) isn’t legal for an average citizen, people who own a gun related business can own them, and charge people to let them shoot them.

So you can go to a “machine gun shoot”, which is essentially just a huge gun show that takes place at a gun range, and there are businesses set up with various machine guns, and you basically pay them to hand you a machine gun with a full magazine, and you just unload it on a target.

It’s a ton of fun if you’ve never done it before, and it allows you to get to shoot some of these guns that regular civilians can’t get their hands on.

This is going to be a bit long of a reply to this conversation so if you don’t like to read things like this please just be civil and scroll past.

On the topic of the rocks: I like the fact that they’re gone, not because they improve the experience for they encounter because I personally don’t think that, I think it’s about level.

But it does show that they made an attempt at improving the encounters across the game.

Someone thought to themselves, “if we remove the rock and allow the warthog through there is it going to be more fun?” and the collectively agreed that the very least it wouldn’t detract from it.

And this type of thought process is exactly what I want them to do with the remake. Because I love ce. But it isn’t without flaws. We know they are there.

In this instance they tried to make the game more fun while still maintaining the spirit of the game. I think they did that fine. Now do that with assault on the control room and the library because those levels desperately need it.
