That's not what Campaign Evolved is though. Yes, it uses legacy code alongside Unreal, but it's not the same CEA where you had the original engine in its entirety running underneath Saber3d

Hi Spartans. Quick question. My little brother in law and I are going through halo mcc and we just finished CE. We played a couple minutes of 2 before stopping for the day but I noticed that 2 Anniversary graphics have ridiculous framerate issues. We are playing splitscreen on a series s. We are fine with playing with the original graphics but like with CE sometimes we like to switch to anniversary to just look at the differences in each level. Is there a way to remedy framerate issues? Off of the top of my head, single player would probably help, right? We could play coop with og graphics and then I could watch him play with anniversary if that would help. Or maybe online coop? Any info is greatly appreciated and if anyone knows if the other campaigns have framerate issues on series s splitscreen I’d appreciate that being mentioned too!

I've been playing Halo 4 after beating all of the Bungie games and here's my opinions so far (just completed Infinity):
Each individual gameplay and art change on its own probably would've been fine but 343 changed too much too fast.
The story doesn't make a lot of sense so far, like why are we fighting the covenant? Why are there suddenly Spartan IVs? Why is the Chief talking so much?
There are a LOT of quick-time events, this honestly feels like DOOM 2016, just without the glory kills.
Finally, weren't the forerunners meant to be the series mystery? They're meant to be an unanswered question, the sort of background for what's going on today, so why in the hell are we suddenly fighting one? This doesn't feel right.

I somewhat agree with what you are saying (I dont particularly like the 343 games) but I would still say they share the same core fundamentals but they are just executed differently.

Thats not a bad thing its just an evolution of the formula you played and loved in the bungie halos. Even if the majority of people feel the games were worse because of the changes it was still an evolution. Bungie also tried to innovate they just did it more gradually and were more limited by hardware at the time. Look at halo reach for example, it hardly looks even remotely similar to combat evolved.

I do disagree with dismissing something as "bad" because you dislike the innovations they made (im using the term innovation loosely because other games had a lot of these features but it was new to halo). At the end of the day there will be people who love and adore the 343i halo games and thats great for them. If you dont then thats fine too but just keep in mind you are in a halo discord which has people from both sides of the coin.
