Lizards and crustaceans aren't exactly notable as being bad-tasting, and both species are 'cleaner' in terms of actual physical cleanliness and hygeine (Jackals are birds and are fully acknowledged as having the bathroom habits to match, and brutes are obligate carnivores who eat extensive amounts of raw meat... Which is one of the best ways to get a great deal of diseases and parasites)

Elites are probably the most edible out of the bunch but their muscles are so lean and tough that it would be like chewing leather

If we were talking across all the species, as well, Hunters I completely doubt as being edible due to them smelling strongly of burning plastic, apparently. Prophets problably would taste like pork, as might Yonhet, due to having vaguely similar qualities to humans (Stretching it here for the Prophets). Drones probably don't taste great, but would likely be a lot like eating a giant dead bee.

The only thing I can maybe think of as a “downside” is whatever happened to infection in infinite. Just an assumption but we didn’t get it until s4 because they wanted a story reason to bring it back. If that’s the case, then I rather just have them be separate entities

Despite the original two being playable on an XBOX 360, I have to play Halo CE and 2 on my original XBOX and the reason why is moderately interesting

Different controllers automatically tap into different muscle memory, and there's no shared controller layout between the XBOX and the 360 games

So if I play Halo 2 on my 360, my reflexes try to play it like Halo 3 because I'm holding a 360 controller

again, depends. If you're playing Halo CE you won't have any problems, considering the original Xbox had (I think I'm remembering this correctly) only 64 MB of VRAM. Halo 2 anniversary is what you should be most worried about, but if you think your GPUs are equal to or better than an Xbox One's, I'd say run some tests to figure out which one is more efficient and consistent
