Also, I'm being apolitical when I say this-current and upcoming policies for US Military stuff are such that I strongly advise waiting at least 5 years to join it if you absolutely must. They're putting a heavier emphasis on removing a lot of what made serving bearable, especially in regards to benefits. Removing social protections and mechanisms, encouraging abuse, et cetera. They've actually been very public about it.
