the enemy team either got their act together and gave your team a hard time and didn't let them get the last flag capture for a while, or your teammates were jerks who wanted to farm kills

for the second one:

that's just kinda how some FFA matches go, once people notice there's someone with 22, 23, 24, kills, they start to target that person to prevent them winning, so that could end up with a situation like where you're describing where the people who are in a position to win, just don't get a chance to because they're getting killed or can't find anyone to kill due to just bad luck
