My own take, dunno if it's cold or hot:

H5G's Banshee and Wraith are too alien. No s###, Stryker, they're meant to be. But what I mean is, they're overly-designed in that direction. I'd've settled for more of those alien textures on the Halo 4 Banshee and Wraith

The Is-belox-pattern Banshee is a lovely craft and I think that's just my #1 Banshee design in general, on par with H2A's

To loop back to the Promethean Knight conversation, I think the change up to them where you shoot parts of was perfectly fine, it's the retooling them into being a Hunter-like enemy within the Prometheans which was the issue with them in Halo 5. They were fine with the role they filled for the Prometheans in Halo 4. Do wish they kept their teleport from Halo 4 too

I enjoyed play the RE games. RE1 remake is great, scary. 7 is good with it first person view and return to horror theme, same with Village. The recent remakes are great especially RE4 remake, including the original RE4. The least favorite game is RE3 remake, due to it cutted a lot of content like no enemies from the original 3, few bosses cutted out, Nemesis encounters are scripted, a big exploration of Raccoon City and it was too short.

If anything, they’re giving their studios a lot of leeway, arguably too much, which works in some cases (Obsidian) but not with others. 343 had many years to work on Infinite, including being given a full extra year, but obviously development didn’t go as expected.

Redfall was well into development before Microsoft acquired them (Zenimax). Something like 70% of the original studio left during those early days because they didn’t want to make a multiplayer game. Microsoft’s main fault after acquiring them was not cancelling the project (which is what they’ve done to Perfect Dark and Everwild today)

343 had plenty of time (6 years) to make Infinite launch in a better state. Microsoft’s/Xbox’s fault here was not cleaning out 343’s management and giving them too much rope to hang themselves

Is it 343 that led to a cascading failiure state? Microsoft? The various management elements of both failing to see eye to eye? Employees requiring different needs and goals, those not being met? Layoffs? COVID?

There were also writer strikes, actor strikes, and other various issues compounding the problem; If people forgot that several Halo VA's were on strike at a few points in the past two years.

Simply put, the situation is complex and multilayered. It's important to realize that blaming any one singular failiure point in larger projects is, more often than not, an exercise in trying to find a scapegoat, not an exercise in finding a solution.

I like Halo, and I love effective critique.

Halo Wars was when Jerome first showed up, but I wouldn't really say he was being set up to be the leading man of the series back in 2009 since he wasn't a major character in the story. He was mainly there in Halo Wars, alongside the other members of Red, to give us some Spartans to look at while fighting (And so the UNSC leaders could have hero units on par with the Covenant ones in multiplayer)

Hot take: the Pulse Carbine is cooler than the Battle Rifle.

Sure the PC has a slower projectile travel speed than the BR, but, dudes and dudettes. It's got a five-round burst (+2 more than the BR), and the bolts can track their targets. Now I will admit, I can't imagine the learning curve it must be to master that weapon. But golly gee, it's a cool weapon and I bet it'd be even cooler once you master it.
