So I hopped on a game and found some random pros who's be willing to play four hours on end, and queued a match.

Ik for me if I at least put the minimum framerate to unlocked, it drops a ton of frames (I usually run about 50-55 (60 hz display), and I get 25-30 with an uncapped minimum framerate)

That's why I'd want it to be a remake: built for modern systems, not just brought forward to be a little better. And the gameplay has evolved markedly since AC4, so being able to have the smoothness and parkour accuracy of the modern AC games in AC4 would be really enjoyable.
