There's a reason them getting rid of loadout mechanics post Halo 4, even for custom games, struck me as an incredibly shortsighted approach to making Halo games. It's a good idea, just either go all in on your class systems or don't. But let people play class-based Halo modes if they want to make them.

Like, the issue's that you don't go far enough, and don't give players the tools to make going 'too far' an option.

If you have that sort of functionality, don't scrap it, improve it even if you aren't making it the focus.

I hated the little bird players in BF4 because I knew they were usually the server owner which was why they banned AA Mines. So I'd use AA mines, Stinger, and Iglas, kill them because they usually didn't have the actual skills to dodge missiles when their broken ECM was on cooldown.
