Hello, everyone, my buddy is taking some time off and we plan on playing through the entire MCC together. I'm trying to put together a kinda tour of content for him.

We plan on starting with Reach, and I'm hoping people could help me come up with some fun objectives for each of the levels. I want to try to get all the various hidden things as well as having some silly moments. I'm trying to use hints without giving away exact positions and such.
Here's an example of Winter Contingency:

• Kill an enemy with a forklift
• Find the Moa Bird Statue (Near some cliffs before you take flight)
• Find the Data Pad (Climb some rocks right after touchdown)

There’s a lot of equipment/power weapons where there isn’t exactly a counterplay though. The counter play is kill them first

If the counterplay is something you cannot reasonably do without significant forewarning, it's not really a counterplay. Like, you can counteract a sniper crossmapping in Battlefield by suppressing them, so it's not OP, but counterplay against a little bird that's inexplicably immune to small arms and is too fast to get hit by missiles, even locking ones, is bad.

Unlike rockets, hypothetical neutral'ing Repulsor has another factor that affects it. It removes enemy agency in a way that isn't fun and thus, y'know. Is bad.

It's like why Mei sucks so bad to deal with in Overwatch. Losing control of your ability to fight is one of the single most frustrating mechanics to deal with in a game, ever, at all.

Scout's sandman bat in TF2 got nerfed for the exact same reason-it went from a forced taunt type effect to a heavy slow effect, because the latter keeps to the spirit of the weapon without completely removing enemy agency, thus allowing counterplay on an attack that otherwise has no warning.

The base charge is kinda weak but it has its uses, but the real fun is the charged version but takes good timing and skill to properly utilize in a fight

A rocket enemy still has counters. It's not a huge AoE, but it's enough to kill the careless so the attacker can self frag.

It's incredibly limited and highlit for everyone on the map when it spawns.

It doesn't stun, shock, or otherwise disrupt an enemy beyond killing them.

The projectile is slow and can thus be reacted to at distance when you are aware.

At least two frequent pickups can directly counter it (shield and repulse).

A charge mechanic is a good idea, sure. But you can hide a charge until it's uncounterable with zero risk otherwise.

It stops it from being an immediate 'hey this is a problem now' issue, sure, which is good. There's also the question of having a cost benefit breakdown of why a weapon has an ability; If it's something broken that is a utility option, on an otherwise unspecial equipment, why are you bothering?
