I submitted a ticket about ranked not working to halowaypoint and got a gaslighting message back telling me to restart the game when I've already done that and its affecting everyone who queues in a fireteam in ranked

When queuing for ranked arena, mutiple players in your fireteam may not connect to the match. They will recieve "Out of match", followed by an error. While the rest load into the game, the people out will be "joining match in progress". Sometimes their spot is replaced with a random not in the fireteam even though it was a full fire-team queuing together. The only fix is to queue-dodge over and over until a match allows each player into the game

Sorta random but ive done a ton of research and nothing seems to be definitive, does anyone know if there is any plan for a port of Halo 5 on PC? it is IMO the single best halo multiplayer to date and id love to see it get a port but cant seem to find any real answer other than a few tweets from back in 2021 when work on Infinite + MCC was at an all time high trying to get content out. Would love to hear some sort of updated information on it as ive seen it on the PC xbox app multiple times with an error and no available install / date, possibly just a display glitch idk. A quirk about H5:Forge is that it wont launch until you uninstall the Halo Channel(?) app that is bundled with it.

Aspen is 100% correct but it should be noted that in the post war era, the UNSC and their allies have been working together on integrating and developing new plasma and needle based weapons, a favourite is the Sword Warthog, which uses Blamite ammo in its machine gun turret (And sadly is only in Halo 5's multiplayer)

Humans will always use ballistics in Halo because it's characterises the franchise as a militaristic scifi shooter in contrast to other scifi franchises

i wouldn't overthink it. its good for gameplay reasons too

every fraction using plasma and lasers would be dull lets be real

lore wise they could explain by humans perfecting what they've got or something. ballistics in the 2500s are probably a lot better then today.

The Spartans started with the ORION program, which was posthumously referred to as the Spartan I program after the Spartan II program's start. ORION was characterized by using consenting adults in controlled conditions who received limited augmentation that typically resulted in neurological issues, such as constant pain; The best known of which was Johnson, best known from Halo 2. The broad spectrum of these capabilities was above the human baseline but the weakest of the Spartan programs, simply due to the rudimentary nature of the augs.

The second Spartan program, the IIs, included Master Chief. They required an extremely strict genetic profile and comprised entirely of kidnapped children. They are known as the exemplars of all a Spartan should be, but that hides the messy underbelly of the II program; A ruinously high problem with implant rejection, and a bottlenecked creation process.

The third, Alpha and Beta Spartan IIIs, was effectively the II program but made more viable; Similar aug abilities, but vastly higher success rate owing to testing and time. IIIs were considered, for the most part, equal to IIs in almost every way short of issued gear, trimming the 'fat' of the II program in favor of raw combat capability. III Gamma, however, added an additional aug to the mix that affected the chemistry of the Spartan's adrenal response, that made them more effective under duress.

The fourth, the IV program, returned to the doctrine of the ORION program while applying augs that made the IVs equal physically to the IIs in armor. In other words, consenting, veteran adult supersoldiers, who are just as physically capable in powered armor as the IIs outside of experience as Spartans.

IIIs were referred to as such by Ackerson, but Ackerson is a biased and incorrect party.

ODSTs on the other hand are an established shock reaction force. They are not expendable, each is a finely tuned and highly capable marine.

IIIs are, for all intents and purposes, a deployable company of incredibly skilled and capable supersoldiers who are more expendable than a II, but less expendable than pretty much anything else in the UNSC.
