Most people are playing the game in the PlayStation accessible places, so it would make sense why, to them, the bar was set at "PSN requirement, ah heck nah" situation, and the "certain places can't play" situation didn't really affect them.
(and that's when the backlash died down and not nearly as many people really pushed hard after the reversal of the PSN requirement and such)

i would just like to express how i think granular was a marketing scheme by 343 industries. they advertised it as probably the most ugliest, color-faded coating in the game, to purposely detract people from buying it. only to later make tons of money off it in marketplaces like ebay once people realized it’s a completely different coating. genius.
i vividly remember someone on ebay who was selling these codes by the ton. and it was only 1 person. it may sound crazy but i feel like it was a 343 employee who was selling these codes. how the hell would that person know these costing would cost so much that he acquired so many? no way lol.
i just think the whole granular situation is sketchy, definitely a ploy from 343 to make some extra money on the side and nobody can change my mind.
