I also think outside of ranked arena, slayer and objective modes should be in separate playlists. i.e., BTB should have a slayer-focused playlist, and I guess with the match composer, you can filter it to just play only BTB slayer.

that's weird. I gave up on MCC a while back. No one plays Halo CE. Halo 3 to me is dogcrap, not a fan of it and never was back in the day. Halo 2 is fun, but I prefer HCE. The other Halo games are kinda meh, I'd rather just play Infinite. Infinite is probably about as close as we will get to HCE kill times. I do wish the powerups were instant like HCE and that there were two per map to balance it out.

I'm niche when it comes to Halo, been playing this game since I bought the xbox at launch with HCE in 2000. I've bought every Halo game at launch since then. I've been around and seen the decline of the game over the years, and it's not due to people not wanting to play Halo, it's due to the fact that MSFT has made each release go further and further away from the core that made Halo fun back in HCE and H2 days. I think Infinite is a great comeback for the Halo franchise, at least for multiplayer. I'm not a big fan of the open world campaign, it feels very artificial and very repetitive. You can tell they got lazy with it, game design-wise. Halo works best in a semi-linear campaign, it's why people loved Halo CE's single player campaign and to this day it's still one of the best ones. Then the multiplayer, HCE and Halo 2 were great, with HCE taking points from Quake 3 arena. The problem for the past four or five halo titles is that they keep trying to chase COD-money and they shouldn't do that. Halo is its own beast and no one can replicate Halo. Not even that Splitgate game. No one can touch Halo. Halo should stick to its strengths and be its own game.

I agree. I think Halo had an identity crisis after Halo 3. COD4 and Halo 3 launched at the same time in 2007. It's why years later, with Reach, they tried so hard to incorporate what made COD successful instead of just focusing on Halo and what had always made Halo a great game.

you should select the 5 slayer modes and you will get instant matches.

you select the playlist 'size' first, and then you need to select a bunch of modes to include.
If you only select 1 mode, it'll take forever to find a match.

Here's the thing though, the PSN requirement was ditched with Helldivers 2 after the backlash(so that was a victory in many people's books, it was good enough to them). And the TF2 community's push, while it's not the first time, this attempt is still new.
